They can make a more comprehensive discussion at a future ECC meeting. They noted that Neil K2LL, as a Red Cross relief worker, was instrumental in helping many people b.Dru KG6LAD recounted the latest significant fire in LAH was one a couple of weeks ago that erupted at 2:15 a.m. and was highly visible and extensive just across the valley, approximately a direct mile away. Her neighbor had called 911, then the neighbors gave a heads up to immediate neighbors with special needs, and Dru messaged the town manager via the emergency contact list. The fire destroyed the home that was engulfed. Several fire engines responded, and it was finally contained. Her point was that fire moves fast and effective “heads up” notification of a nearby event is a process worth finessing, citing the recent disastrous and fast-moving fires in Paradise, as well as earlier fires in the Napa and Shasta Lake regions. c.Dru and Eduardo, on behalf of ECC, expressed their appreciation for the long-term service of Gary Waldeck K6AIR, our council liaison, whose final term on the City Council ended in December. d.The January ECC meeting will be moved to Jan 8 from its regular date which happens to be Jan. 1, 2019, New Year’s Day. 5.ECC Activities and related. a.Council Member Gary K6AIR, Liaison, reported that an agreement between the Purissima water district and the Town would soon be finalized to enable the installation of HF antenna equipment at one of water tanks for emergency communication. b.Neil K2LL, EC: LAH will be responsible for SPECS UHF and Main net for the month of January 2019. He asked anyone interested to be Net control to contact him. She clarified recent announcements regarding DSW registration and said that only the DSWs of the County need to re-register starting this month.
