Review of Planning Commission Meeting:
The house of Ramberg on Sherlock Road was approved by a vote of 3 to 2 despite a 26 ft
encroachment into the front set back and a height exceeding the 27 ft limit. This variance
was approved because it caused “the least amount of disturbance to the land”.
Sandy believes there is a Town Ordinance that states that you cannot make a non-
conforming building more non-conforming but this Ordinance was not mentioned during
the discussion.
The Water Board rejected the proposal of separate meters for home and landscaping,
stating that they felt the separation would not enhance water conservation. They were,
however, considering the idea of a “leak” meter.
No decision was made on limiting the size of estate homes. Most Commissioners felt
that the increase of setbacks would dictate the ultimate size of the house to be built. The
consensus was that this should be noticed to the Town for a special meeting to discuss the
whole issue of estate homes.
Review of Site Development/ Fast Track meetings:
October 2 meeting - Neela Shula was not present.
October 9 meeting – Pat Ley took over from April Anair
At the Oct. 9th meeting, Environmental objections to the new house on Gigli Court were
duly noted by Planning. The request of a neighbor, Mr. Navarro, to have a heritage oak
removed lightened the mood of the meeting by uniting everyone against him.

Sandy Humphries reported that the completed proposal for the Native Plant
Demonstration Garden would be on the Agenda of the Council on October11th. (It was
subsequently approved.)

It was agreed that Pat Ley should attend the Water Conservation Sub. Committee
meetings.
Meeting adjourned: 6. 45 pm.
