Call to Order Carol Gottlieb called the meeting to order at 5:35 pm. 2. Presentations from the Floor Nancy handed out a November 6, 2017 article in the San Francisco Chronicle about acorn hunters in the northern California fire area attempting to restore oak groves devastated by the fire. 3. Committee Dates of Interest & Assignments Committee: Tuesday, December 12, 2017 @ 5:30 pm Christmas Party at Carol’s Council: November 16, 2017 @ 6 pm Planning Commission: December 7, 2017 @ 7 pm Field Trips: Ed, Mary Ann, Rajiv and Carol volunteered to participate Fast Track/Site Development Meetings: Tuesdays, November 21 (Neela)), November 25 (Ed), December 5 (Nancy), December 12 (Carol) 4. Old Business Tree Ordinance: Nothing new to report Subdivision Ordinance: The Town Council will consider the ordinance at its next meeting Metal Roof Ad Hoc Group: The proposal was sent by Commissioner Couperus to staff to be put on the agenda of the Planning Commission Landscape Planting Pamphlet Update and Review: Peter Brown reported on the progress he has made updating the Landscape and Planting document. He intends to include invasives as well as a list of recommended native plants and trees. 5. New Business The minutes of the October 10, 2017 meeting were approved unanimously. Site Conditions at Time of Review: Chair Carol Gottlieb is working on a recommendation. There was discussion about the timing of site visits – preference being for timing visits after walls have gone up rather than visiting when the house is framed. Review of Field Trips October 20, 2017 28550 Matadero Creek Lane – second unit (no indication of MFA and MDA; no fence allowed in OSE); adequate screening 26160 Rancho Manuella (no lighting shown; redoing pool, secondary dwelling already approved) November 3, 2017 24600 Summerhill Avenue – addition/remodel (no issues; removal of oleander recommended) 23601 Camino Hermosa (privacy concerns; recommend adding more trees to replace older trees; outdoor lighting not shown) Middle Fork Lane – new residence (difficult to screen; lighting might be a problem for neighbors; recommend skylights instead of third row of windows) Review of Fast Track/Site Development Meetings October 17, 2017 27798 Via Ventana Way (approved; no issues) 10880 Magdalena and 10888 Magdalena (no problems noted - approved) October 24, 2017 26815 Ortega Drive (6-foot fence – open fencing – okayed) 26850 St. Francis Road (eucalyptus removed – approved with conditions) November 14, 2017 26355 Esperanza Drive (approved – check lighting on deck) 12670 Corte Madera Lane (contentious meeting – EDPC recommends referring to the Planning Commission) 12520 Barley Hill Road Planning Commission Meeting – November 2, 2017 – reviewed briefly – Rosy Ko (Natoma subdivision) commented on the Planning Commission meeting in which the vote to send on the project to Council was 4 to 1. A subsequent special meeting to consider rescinding the November 2nd decision was scheduled for November 20th. Council Meeting – Landscape fees for the secondary unit on Mrs. Seidel’s property will be addressed by the Town Council. Meeting Adjourned at 7:00 pm Nancy Couperus
