Minutes of Regular Meeting – August 14, 2018

1. Call to Order Peter Brown called the meeting to order at 5:35 pm.
2. Presentations from the Floor Carol announced that there will be a presentation of the
Ginzton family and their contributions to our Town, sponsored by the History Committee, on
Sunday, September 23rdat 2 pm at Town Hall
3. Visit by Planning Director Suzanne Avila Suzanne reviewed items of interest to the EDPC
that will be coming before the Planning Commission.
Tree Ordinance: Planning is continuing work on the Tree Ordinance. New Assistant Planner
Jeremy Loh, who has a degree in landscape architecture, will be taking on this assignment.
Planning Commissioner Susan Mandle and representatives from Town committees will
participate.
Metal Roof Ordinance: The ordinance will be going back to the Planning Commission for the
Public Hearing.
Fast Track Guide for New Residences: This document came up for discussion at the last
Planning Commission meeting as a result of Birgitta raising questions about the Guide under
Presentations from the Floor. Discussion of the Fast Track Guide will be put on a future
Planning Commission agenda. At that time the EDPC may want to make recommendations to
update the Fast Track Checklist.
Geographic Information System (GIS) Suzanne explained the usefulness of the system in
gathering and analyzing data. It is currently being worked on by staff.

5. Old Business
Tree Ordinance: Covered under Planning Director presentation
Outdoor Lighting: Continued concerns about impact on neighbors and impact on wildlife
Metal Roof Guidelines: Covered under Planning Director presentation
Beautification of Entrances to Town: Carol will send the recommendations from EDPC to staff
for consideration.
5. New Business
The minutes of the June 12, 2018 and July 10, 2018 meeting were approved unanimously.

Discussion Council Liaison Gary Waldeck advised the Committee to note the job site
conditions, safety, fire hazards, etc. on the field trip reports, and to
separately notify the Planning Director.
