Attendees Breene Kerr John Harpootlian Craig Jones Ian Earnest Jay Shideler Mark Jensen Walt Wilson Peter Evans (chair) 2. Proposed PV/Energy Efficiency Regulation Peter Evans summarized the action taken by the council at the October 20 meeting and next steps. Mark Byington of Cobalt Power made a presentation discussing the economic drivers of viable photovoltaic systems. He also discussed how, as a result of the evolution away from ranch-style homes, many new homes require ground mounted or pole-mounted photovoltaic arrays to achieve an economically viable size, and the implications of this on MDA. 3. Transportation Fuel Conservation Program Jay Shideler discussed the single-stream recycling program approved by the town at its November 17 meeting. The committee discussed its implications on fuel consumption and discussed their desire to benchmark and monitor this program to determine if it achieves its objective of increased recycling at reduced cost. 4. Information Initiative Ian Earnest offered to draft information on efficient pool pumping systems for the committee. 5. Public Comments Sandy Humphries provided to the committee information on copper roofing material and its impacts on stormwater runoff. The City of Palo Altos’ regional water quality control plan in 1999 and 2000 researched copper roof materials as a major source of copper in the water and a toxicity concern. The City of Palo Alto has prohibited the use of copper roofing, copper granule asphalt shingles, and copper gutters since 1/1/03. Ms. Humphries noted that the new town hall uses copper gutters and may be considered an example to follow. 6. Upcoming meeting schedule The committee discussed meeting either December 14 or December 19. 7. Adjournment
