Regular Meeting Minutes

1. Roll Call
Attendees: Peter Evans, Serena Giori, April Anair, John Radford
Guest: Steve Schmidt
The committee approved the minutes from the March 28 meeting and agreed to submit the
portion on the town’s artificial turf policy as the committee’s recommendation.
2. Fast Track Guide
The committee continued to review the proposed sustainability addition to the Fast Track Guide,
with the changes from the prior meeting and the addition of a worksheet for PV sizing. The
committee discussed the proposal from the Water Conservation Committee to include irrigation
use of water in on-site rainwater diffusers. The committee agreed there are some concerns about
the practicality of this. The committee also discussed how the elements pertaining to the
sustainability goal should be weighted relative to the elements pertaining to the other Fast Track
Guide goals.
The committee agreed to forward the present document to town staff and look for additional
expertise from them on the rainwater diffuser matter.
3. LAH PV Ordinance Renewal
The committee discussed renewal of the PV ordinance but took no final action.

The committee discussed having a table at the town picnic to give some visibility to the
committee’s activities. Jay Shideler and Steve Schmidt had agreed to provide some display
materials and Peter Evans agreed to bring an EZ-Up and a table and chairs.

Any writings or documents provided to a majority of the Environmental Initiatives Committee regarding any
item on this agenda will be made available for public inspection in the City Clerk’s office located at Town
Hall, 26379 Fremont Road, Los Altos Hills, California during normal business hours.
7. Public Comment
The committee discussed the pending revision to the town’s General Plan circulation element,
and asked John Radford about the external drivers behind the revision and the implications of the
proposed changes.
