Regular Meeting Minutes

1. Roll Call — Committee members Pat Lang, Peter Evans, Drew Grewal, Peter Evans.
Community members: Jay Shideler, Steve Schmidt, Joe Siudzinski
Z. Approval of Minutes — There was no quorum at the January meeting and therefore
no minutes to approve
3. New items:
• GreenWaste update — Community member Jay Shideler gave an update on
the status of the Town's current contract with waste management provider
GreenWaste. The current contract is due to expire at the end of June. The
Town has decided to issue a request for proposal for the next contract. A
Request for Proposals is being prepared and should be posted later this month.
• Update on Town's decision - - purchase of mower equipment The
Committee members were updated on the Town Council's vote and decision
to purchase an electric mower for maintenance of the Purissima Park fields
rather than fossil fuel powered equipment.
4. Updates:
• Education initiative for Town citizens regarding environmental issues: Srini
— Not discussed
• GHG action plan: Steve
o Proposal: Town staff EV charging — The Committee discussed and
passed a resolution "encouraging the Town to investigate providing
incentives for electric vehicle use by town staff, for example, free or
reduced cost charging". Drew Grewal made a motion to endorse the
resolution, which was seconded by Peter Evans, and passed unanimously
o Proposal: Assessment of fire risk abatement aligned with GHG
reduction. Committee discussed that growing need to reduce fire risk
provides another compelling justification for undergrounding, and
considered whether Town could fund undergrounding through measures
that would also incentivize GHG reduction. Committee concluded that
previously authorized sub -committee should investigate this and other
options.
