February 21, 2012
1. Meeting called to order in Parks and Recreation Building @ 2:05 pm by Nobuko Clearly,
Chair.
Committee Members present: Nobuko Clearly, Mary Ann Malcolm, Catherine Popell,
Diane Brauch, May Davenport.
Council Liaison: Ginger Summit
Observer: Les Earnest
Observer: Joseph Heinrich
2. No review and approval of Minutes for November 2011, December 2011, January 2012
(no meetings had taken place during these months due to new committee members
Catherine Popell, Diane Brauch, and May Davenport).
3. Old Business
a. History Sites and Structures
Les Earnest and the Stegner proposal was how and where to move the Study before
demolition is still up in the air. Counsel has not been advised on any decisions on how to
proceed with the development including relocation or removal of the structure on the
Lands of Yong must wait until the CEQA process is complete. The History Committee
will not take any action until the CEQA is completed. The recommendation of this action
will be discussed by History Committee on March 12, 2012.
b. History Lectures on Audio Tapes
Ginger Summit and Nobuko Clearly on February 8th 2012 met with the Los Altos
History liaison Lisa Robinson to discuss Los Altos Hills history documentation and
cassette tapes (oral history items). This information was provided to our History
Committee and will be reviewed and maybe converted to digital form so they can be
preserved and made available on the Town Website.

4. New Business
a. Potential Change in Meeting Date and Time
The History Committee will continue to meet the 3rd Tuesday of each month but time
change has moved from 2:00pm to 3:30pm. The vote for the Time change was accepted.
b. Associate Member
Jitze Couperus, Joseph Heinrich and Les Earnest are applying for Associate Membership.
The History Committee will vote on this next month.
5. Presentations from the Floor
Les Earnest, Subject was Formation of History Junta. Les wanted to form a new group so
called the Occupy Los Altos Hills movement. This committee would provide similar
history information. After discussion everyone on the History Committee felt this was a
duplication of work and added no value. We do not need additional complications but to
simplify the process. This History Junta was voted down.
