HomeMy WebLinkAboutMarch 19LAH History Committee Minutes - March 19, 2013 Attendance: Chairwomen Carol Gottlieb, Mary Ann Malcolm, Jitze Couperus, May Davenport, Diane Brauch, Catherine Popell, Nobuko Saito Cleary, Ginger Summit Town Council Liaison: Rich Larsen Associate Member: Joe Heinrich Chairwoman Carol Gottlieb called the meeting to order @ 3:30 p.m. January 15 Minutes were approved. Old Business: 1. Old Archives files project is still being research each Thursday between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Newspaper Scanning Article project still in progress. Jitze has completed around 3 books of scanning. Many books to go, maybe we can get assistance from students at Foothill College. 2. Oral History Project Task will be starting soon. Ginger has join working with the Los Altos History Committee. Los Altos Committee has interview over a 100 people using a tape recorder, LAH purchase a tape recorder now for our interviews. We will be using the same format as Los Altos. Such as a script of questions, permission slip to sign. The interview will be tape, a hard copy will be made from the tape and changes made accordingly to the hard copy as needed to perfect the interview. Ginger has completed an interview with Bob Stutz. 3. Street names as progress nicely, but there as been a slow down on input received. 4. Heritage Oak Tree-History/Environmental Design/Open Space committee are proceeding and in full process for developing procedures on designated trees. The history committee will be primarily responsible for putting name plates around the designated tree. 5. Mary Ann ask Carol to follow up on The Pink Horse Ranch History signs that need to be repaired ( 2 Horses). Developed by Walt Disney studios. 6. Mary Ann invited Linda Swan to stop by the History committees meeting. At next months meeting Linda Swan and Sheryl Alexander will drop by to share information on the Griffin House located at Foothill College.
