Attendance: Chairwomen: Carol Gottlieb, Mary Ann Malcolm, Diane Brauch, Jitze Couperus,
Carol Crites, Joe Heinrich, May Davenport, Catherine Popell, Rich Larson
Not Present: Ginger Summit, Nobuku Saito Cleary, Linda Swan
Chairwoman: Carol Gottlieb called meeting to order @ 3:30 pm
The September 17, 2013 minutes were approved.
Old Business:
1. Scanning project moving along. Jitze Couperus and Carol Crities
2. Recorder and Transcript project still in progress (10 complete). Ginger Summit and Nobuko Saito
Cleary. $414.00 paid to LA History House for services performed.
3. Street names project moving along. Large print provided for October 20 party with all current updates
by Diane. Street map which identified Street names was prepared by Catherine for the October 20 party.

4. Heritage Oak Tree Project fell apart. Carol Gottlieb to advise if another committee will be form to
support this project.
5. Kathy Evans met with the History committee to express her support for a Third Grade school project
such as developing a coloring book/working with kids from the Hills so they would have a better
understanding of the Hills History.
6. Shed/Carport project for Farm Equipment was discussed (county gave money for shed). History
Committee feels we need to preserve this Farm Equipment very soon. Mary Ann suggested to take a look
at the Farm equipment at Los Altos History House and see how nicely their equipment has been
preserved (stored under a covered shed). Rich Larson and Mary Ann to work on this.
7. Catherine research the article question can we put newspaper article's out there on our Web etc. She
found out yes we can, only we must make sure we identify what News Paper published the article.
8. Gathering for Residents 35 years was completed on 10/20/13. Party was a great success! We need to
do an article with a picture of our committee.
9. The First California Hussar Regiment met with the History committee Frank Bakonyi and Peter Vadasz
in regards to renting out Westwind barns for approximately 20 horses. This was turned over to Rich
Larson to take to counsel for discussion. Many on our committee thought this would be a great help
to support Westwind Barn.
9. An Ordinance Proposal to preserving Historical Water Towers and other such items is being
discussed. Carol Gottlieb will update the committee on this.
