Not Present: Member Nobuko Cleary, Associate Member: Joe Heinrich, Linda Swan,
Mary VanTamlen
Chairwoman Carol Gottlieb called the meeting to order @ 3:35
City Clerk Deborah Padovan updated the Committee on two ongoing issues: storage of material and the
farm equipment.
The November 19, 2013 minutes were approved.
Old Business:
1. Scanning and indexing project continues. Books 5 and 6 ready for indexing. Separate subject
folder made. Jitze Couperus and Carol Crities
2. Oral history and transcription project in progress (13 completed). Ginger Summit and Nobuko
Saito
3. Street name project continues. Diane Brauch and Catherine Popell
4. Collection of Current History Information in progress. Mary Ann Malcolm
5. Heritage Tree Ordinance responsibility will go to a new committee. Carol Gottlieb
6. Shed for Farm Equipment project was discussed. Information provided by City Clerk Deborah
Padovan. Council Larson Rich Larson and Mary Ann Malcom
7. Ordinance Proposal to preserve Historical Water Tower was discussed. The Committee decided
to search out other historical town sites before suggesting a single object proposal. Carol
Gottlieb
8. Third Grade History Project. Carol Crites updated the Committee on her discussion with
educators.
New Business:
1. It was agreed to move the item Presentation from the Floor to the top of the agenda. This will
decrease the wait time for the public to present information
2. Goals for 2014 were voted on unanimously. They are: 1) Refurbish the farm equipment and
provide informational signs, 2) inventory historical sites 3) provide an event for the public this
year.
