HomeMy WebLinkAboutJuly 15Draft Los Altos Hills History Committee Minutes for July 15, 2014 Chairwomen Carol Gottlieb called the meeting to order @ 3:35 p.m. Present: Carol Gottlieb, Mary Ann Malcolm, Diane Brauch, Ginger Summit, Linda Swan, Rich Larsen Not Present: Nobuko Cleary, Catherine Popell, May Davenport, Jitze Couperous, Associates May Van Tamlen and Joe Heinrich Early Departure: Rich Larsen Guests: Gary Waldeck, Michael Malcolm Review of Minutes: Approved after the correction that Carol Summit should be Carol Crites, and Rich Larson was not shown Old Business: 1. Old Archive Jitze put the scrapbooks to one side for a moment in favor of processing old Town News Letters- Jitze has now completed approximately 18, and only 47 or so more to go. This wil l be on via the WEB ( this collection will take us up to September 1993). 2. Oral History Project, Los Altos Hills resident Feinwick was completed. 3. Street names, Deborah Padovan has linked the street names but is asking for more history information to be put at out such as pictures etc. 4. Collection of Current History information-Mary Ann Malcolm contacted the Town Crier talk with Eliza who does data base information for the Crier. The Crier has an open Internet data base which goes back to 1994. We can get all of our article information off the open Internet data base.Goggle uses this data base per Eliza for data. Maryann suggested we have Joe Heinrich (who works for Goggle) to get the information off the Crier’s data base and into the History Data Base. This information was given to Jitze. This would illuminate no more physical needs to cut articles and put into folders. 5. Shed and Farm Equipment-Gary Waldeck was going to put us down for a council meeting in August. Rich Larsen will reschedule this presentation on the Shed and Farm equipment for Sept or Oct 2014 council meeting. Maryann Malcolm to work with Richard Chiu to get a plan (blue print) lay out of equipment, shed, labeling of the equipment and pathway access to the equipment. 6. Preservation of Historical Landmarks of Interest. The Historical Site 10 already present at St. Lukes Chapel in the Hills. Maryann received an email from LeeAnn who would like to pursue a Historical Plaque, and for this church to become Historical. This site was where Los Altos Hills became incorporated 1956. It was the heart of the Town. Carol Crites to work on this. Maryann gave email copy to Carol Crites. 7. September Event: The Packard Event will be on September 21, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00. Mary Ann Malcolm to send updated information to Cathy Winters @ Packard Foundation. A meeting to be schedule in a few weeks to complete plans for the day. 8. A Historical Display in March 2015 as part of the Art Exhibit. Material to be display still needs to be discuss. The Meeting adjourned at 5:40 pm. Respectfully submitted by Maryann Malcolm
