Meeting called to order at 3:30 by acting Chair Mary Ann Malcolm In attendance: Carol Gottlieb, Mary Ann Malcolm, Diane Brauch, May Davenport, Jitze Couperus, Assoc members - Joe Heinrich, Linda Swan, Tara Swan Absent: Nobuko Cleary, Carol Crites, Catherine Popell, Council Liaison - Rich Larsen 2. Presentations from Floor: Les Earnest notified us that $21,000+ had been officially transferred to the town from the Los Altos Hills Historical Society. The funds are restricted to use for historical needs. He also discussed the Stegner study. New owners of the property are willing to preserve the study. Les suggested we also look into other possible locations in case the original site cannot be used. He proposed a loation near the Westwind Barn. 3. Review of 11/18/2014 minutes: Accepted as written 4. Committee Reports: A. Digital Archives & Website: Jitze continues to work on old newsletters and has completed 1973-2000. He plans to get it on the town website. B. Oral History Project: No report but we are researching who has the current information. C. Preservation of Historical Landmarks: The Shumate gates will receive a plaque from the town once we create the wording. Susan Avila, new town planning director, will be asked to talk to us about historical landmarks 5. Old Business A. Heritage Park progress: A meeting is planned by the ad hoc committee which currently has 6 members. We will check with Deborah Padovan for committee parameters. B. Historical Display in April: still under discussion for a later date. We plan a February date to check archives at Town Corporation yard. Tara Swan, assoc. member, will join with the group to work on the historical display and possibly to do photographs for a “then & now” exhibit. C. Cupola Decision from Council - we have received final decision for the cupola to be repaired and placed on a concrete pedestal directly in front of the Town Hall Council Chambers. It will contain a time capsule. 6. New Business A. Jitze is preparing a report for 2014 of the committee’s accomplishments in 2014 including cupola, Packard meeting, farm equipment shelter, digital newsletters, oral histories, etc. B. There was discussion of several possible ideas for events in 2015 including completion of cupola, art exhibit, work on heritage park, Stegner study, and possibilities for yearly event. C. Diane suggested we add a committee report category for monthly updates to yearly town activities and council actions which she is maintaining. D. Carol Gottlieb will contact Mary Van Tamlen and ascertain if she wants to be an official associate or would rather help as needed.. 7.
