came to the event.
Linda Swan indicated that Tara Swan is looking for abandoned buildings (barns, etc.) to take pictures of
to document our buildings.
Review of Minutes:
Nobuko wants to know more details on the Cupola process. She is disappointed not included in the
decision process. Also wants to know why not receiving emails about new members, minutes, etc. Jitze
provided her a summary and some discussion was had. It was made clear that the Town Council is the
final decision maker. Diane Brauch is unclear about what was voted on as the “final draft”. Diane said
we spent a great deal of time on digital archives. All members have asked for the plaque verbiage to be
emailed to the entire committee later this week.
“Taffee” should be spelt “Taaffe”
Minutes are approved as amended.
Jitze expressed concern in members missing multiple meetings.
Nobuko said she still wants all email correspondence irrespective of missing meetings.
Nobuko expressed interest in having her name on the plaque.
Committee Reports:
Digital Archives & Website:
Nothing to note at this time
Oral History Project:
Nick French said he met with Ginger Summit to discuss the oral history project. Ginger indicated Los
Altos History Museum has an expert. He will email out the oral history prospective list to the committee
for review and comment for next month
Nobuko Cleary said there is a list and already categorized. Nick and Nobuko will connect offline. She
indicated Nick’s list is different from an “approved list” by committee.
Bridget Morgan suggests Stanford’s Oral History Expert coming to the committee to discuss their
process in a following meeting.
Linda suggests we have a video conducted if the Oral History Expert comes to the meeting for an
overview
Historical Information & FAQ:
This is Diane’s last meeting as a member for the History Committee. She will potentially be an Associate
Member going forward
Old Business:
Copula plaque: discussed under Minutes section
Time capsule: Mary Ann meeting with Relations Committee tonight to review 60th anniversary update
Taaffe event: still unable to get ahold of Taaffe family members for event
Town Picnic: Diane doesn’t think there are valuable additions to suggest being at picnic. Last year not
much interest to justify the effort. Multiple members added comments to discussion. Jitze suggests at
the picnic having more a “Suggestion Box” for the 60th anniversary, since we want to do something of
value. Picnic is June 7th. Nick suggest next year having something more interactive such as members
dressed in costume with “Spin the Wheel of History” so residents can learn something new about town.
Members voted not to have a station at the town picnic this year.
New Business:
Vote on new Associate Members: Bridget Morgan & Les Ernest: unanimous vote “yes” for Bridget and
Les as Associate Members.
Diane has concerns about Code of Conduct, section E. Indicates too many decisions are made without
open conversation or discussion.
Nobuko wants to know cost for Cupola and Time Capsule. Costs paid from Historical Society.
