Review of Minutes: Minutes approved with 1 modification – September 11th event – 2:30-5:00pm
Committee Reports:
Digital Archives – tracking who is researching data and interesting to see what is being reviewed.
Proved as valuable for research purposes. Certain pages are being viewed most often.
Oral History Project – Bob Stutz most recent interview. In process of editing. Article written for town
magazine and final revision completed. Working on next interviews.
One-room Schoolhouse Preservation – looking at options to preserve property such as requesting town
not to count the structure towards MDA/MFA development of property. Investigating Title 11 options.
Historical Sites – Carol Crites provided town appendix A, historic sites and structures in Los Altos Hills.
Asked committee members to review and email and updates known. Carol Gottlieb took pictures of
proposed historical sites that should be considered for preservation
Old Business:
Time capsule – time capsule pushed until June/July after the town picnic to give residents time to write
in “memory book”. Raj Patel (resident) provided Intel wafer for capsule
LAH History Anthology – discussion on whether to support/not support the project and what it should
be called, alternatively to “history”.
Proposed Motion that passed unanimously: Create an ad hoc committee of Jitze Couperus, John Swan
and Bridget Morgan, to communicate with Duffy Price and Alex Atkins to continue with private funding
for anthology project and development of website presence with review according to passed motion
from March.
Annual Presentation: Kim Cranston – in process, updated time: September 11th 2:30-5:00pm
Farm Equipment – Bridget looked through files in history house. Some documents found included
establishment of heritage orchard enacted by town, original town crier articles, fundraising, etc.
Working to obtain information on Packard grant, which built the shed that is now leased to cellular
company.
New Business:
Hidden Villa Japanese Event – Nobuko Cleary discussed her involvement with the annual event
History Committee Communication Protocol – John Swan requests certain guidelines for
communication standards. Carol Crites suggests all email communications go through her in order to
follow Brown Act guidelines. John Swan wants the committee to speak as a single voice.
