Old Business:
Review work in progress of proposed revision to Appendix A – LAH historic sites/buildings – Carol
Gottlieb prepared and presented the additional properties list and briefly discussed each. Call for
committee members to provide additional properties that should be added.
Review of proposed additions to Appendix (we will refer to this as Rev.2) – Rev 2 will include original
Appendix A plus additions. Discussion on what should be included, such as the Cupola at Town Hall.
Carol has a short list that she is working on including property on Moody Road.
ACTION ITEM: Carol Gottlieb to include additional historical homes and sites to spreadsheet currently
being used by History Committee
Update on draft of incentive programs – Mary Ann Malcolm addressed Dori Lane property and the new
owner plans to tear down original schoolhouse. Nobuko Cleary raised concerns about cost to preserve
schoolhouse, but interested in preserving the structure.
History Committee Final Minutes - April 18, 2017
MOTION: History Committee to notice Town Manager Carl Cahill, that Dori Lane Schoolhouse property
shall be held without any removal of structures

ACTION ITEM: Mary Ann Malcolm to notice Town Manager Carl Cahill, that Dori Lane Schoolhouse
property shall be held without any removal of structures until the History Committee presents solution
at next month (May) meeting and during next 30 days History Committee to work with Staff explore
options.
2017 Annual History Committee Event, 9/24: 2‐4pm – LAH/LA Silicon Valley Game Changers, hosted
by Dick Henning – location changed to Town Hall. Panelists have not been requested
Summary of meetings with Mayor Waldeck regarding our committee’s responsibilities and goals –
Nicholas French met with Gary Waldeck regarding incentive program and obtained feedback.
ACTION ITEM: Nicholas French write out a generic incentive program schedule for review at May
meeting
New Business:
Nobuko – information only – Silicon Valley International Film Festival showing on April 30th: “Paper
Lanterns” at Cinema 3 in San Jose. Third Annual Japanese Cultural Day at Hidden
John Swan – Carol Smith visiting meeting as a potential associate member
ACTION ITEM: next month meeting agenda to include vote on Carol Smith as Associate Member
