Call to Order—3:45 PM
In attendance—Carol Gottlieb, Sally Wood, Linda Swan, Jitze Couperus, Nobuko Cleary, Bridget
Morgan, Carol Grewal
Presentations from the Floor—Carol Gottlieb was at a Town Council meeting when Roger Spreen, our
council representative, presented a plan from an ad hoc committee for the expansion of Town Hall. The
planned called for connection the main Town Hall building with the Parks and Recreation building. It
also included the plan to tear down the History House in order to create a tranquil open space in the area.
Since we had requested space in the History House for storage and meetings, the plan to possibly tear it
down came as a surprise. Public hearings will be held before anything is done, but we should be aware of
the plan.
Approval of the Minutes from the March 20 and April 17, 2018 Meetings—Approved with addition of the
date on the March 20 minutes.
Appendix A—With the correction of the building date for the Eshner House of 1938, the Committee
voted to approve Carol Gottlieb sending the document to Suzanne in planning for approval by the Town
Council in the Town General Plan.
Archiving Historical Documents—Sally is going through the file cabinets to get a feel for what is in there
and what may be duplicates.
Historical Document Venues—Documentation and historical items are currently being stored at Carol
Gottlieb’s home, file cabinets, and maintenance building.
Booth at June Town Picnic—Quiz was developed, however since it was very hot, only one person
completed the quiz. Will save it for a later time.
Committee Report to Council—In March, Carol presented status of Committee and made a plea for space
to store historical items.
Historical Trivia Questions—Requested for Family Night. Nothing has been done, so far.
Form Sub-Committee for Ginzton Presentation—Carol Gottlieb talked to Nancy Ginzton. Linda and
Carol will meet with Nancy on Thursday, July 5, if she is available.
Megan (from Town Crier) said she would run an article in Town Crier about the Ginzton Presentation on
September 23.
Old Town Hall Plaque—Jitze Couperus put together options for displaying the Original Town Hall
Plaque. The Committee chose one and Jitze will make minor changes and present the revised Alternative
Two to the Committee at the next meeting.
