Location — Los Altos Hills, Art & Rec. Big. Time 7:00 p.m.
Members present: Maryam Dickey, Karen Druker, Patricia Kreager, Sherry Scott, Gail Soloman.
Meeting was called to order by Karen. Minutes of June 5, 2014 were read by Pat. Motion by Gail to
approve minutes, as read, Seconded by Sherry and Unanimously approved.
Old Business: Status of donated sculptures: "Chocolate", the donor has decided to give the statue to
her daughter, instead of the APPC. "Star Gazers", will be installed on the LAH Town Hall campus, Friday
Aug. 29, 2014, under the supervision of a structural engineer. The anonymous donor is paying for this
($500.) expense. "Blue", Sandra Simmons, the donor, reported that the sculpture is in the process of
being constructed.
New Business: A discussion was held regarding the possibility of the APPC (as a group) purchasing a
sculpture at a future date. This subject was tabled.
Also, the Committee agreed to request ($10,000) from the LAHCC, for expenses incurred by the APPC,
in their budget, at the City Council meeting on September 11, 2014.
There are two Los Altos Hills events which the APPC committee members (Karen, Sherry & Maryam) will
attend: the "Hoedown" on September 6, 2014 and (Gail & Sherry) will attend the Hewlett Packard event
on September 21, 2014, to publicize and promote the APPC sculpture donation opportunities.
The APPC needs some clarification of the difference between "solicitations" and "advertising". Karen
will contact LAH councilman, Gary Walldek, regarding this matter.
Motion made bv: Gail that the APPC limit presentations of future donor sculptures, to the LAHC, of not
more than 2-3 yearly (once per quarter), except in the case of an emergency. Seconded: Maryam and
Unanimously approved.
On October 12, 2014 during the art exhibit and reception held at the LAH the APPC will unveil the (3)
sculptures already installed on the LAH Town Hall campus: "Our Olone Roots", Star Gazers & "Uptown".
Sherry and Maryam presented a draft of the proposed amendments to the original LAH's APPC's ,
charter dated February 20, 2014. The proposed amendments were discussed in depth by our
committee. Sherry will send the APPC's amendments of the original LAH's charter, in a packet, to the
LAHC by September 3, 2014. Sherry and Maryam will then present it to the LAHC on September 11,
2014 at the Council's meeting. Motion made by Maryam to make amendments to the original LAH's
