Location: Parks & Rec. bldg. — Los Altos Hills @ 7 PM
Meeting called to order by Karen Druker, Chair. Other committee members present: Roger Burnell,
Courtney Corrigan, Council Liaison, Patricia Kreager, Sherry Scott and Gail Solomon.
Minutes of February 10, 2014 were read by Pat Kreager, Gail pointed out one correction should be
made under New Business, paragraph 3, sentence 5 of those minutes should read "offer, in that, the
donor, who resides in the town of Palo Alto, is donating the sculpture to our town". Minutes were
corrected and then, unanimously approved.
Old Business:
Back lighting of the lobby sculpture "Uptown" was discussed and Courtney, suggested the Committee
not bring up this item with the City Council as it is premature. We discussed presenting our
Committee's Master Plan to the Council. We briefly discussed this project but ran of time so, we
agenda sized it until our next meeting.
New Business•
Motion by Roger: to present "Star Gazers" and "Blue" along with the Committee's #1 site
recommendation for each, to the Council. Karen is preparing a packet for the City Council which will
include photos of these sculptures, along with photos of the sites for each. After distribution to Council,
Karen will place stakes for each sculpture on the Town Hall campus with the recommended sites for
Council's approval. Later, Karen will present the sculpture "Chocolate", for approval, by the Council,
along with our #1 site recommendation. Seconded by Sherry and Unanimously approved. Motion by
Roger• when installing "Star Gazers" (Buck & Fawn) on recommended site, they should be placed a little
further forward, away from the curved wall, facing Fremont, with the buck in back of the fawn. Name of
sculpture to remain "Star Gazers". Seconded by. Pat and Unanimously approved. Motion by Sherry:
to install "Blue" in Edith Park (corner of Edith & Fremont) at designated location in park. Karen will
check with the donor to find out if the sculpture needs footings. Other sites were discussed for this piece
if Council doesn't approve our #1 recommended site; name of piece will remain "Blue". Seconded by
Karen. Unanimously approved.
We discussed the donation "Chocolate". The #1 Committee's site recommendation would be on the
City Hall Campus, near the bulletin board; the trash can relocated , electrical box painted and a suitable
ground material installed at the base of piece to make the sculpture more prominent.
