Los Altos Hills Time: 7:00 p.m. Members present: Courtenay Corrigan, Council Liaison, Maryam Dickey, Karen Druker, Chair., John Harpootlian, Council Member, Patricia Kreager, Rec. Secretary, Sherry Scott, Gail Solomon. Karen called the meeting to order. Minutes of March 7, 2014, were read by Pat, Secretary. Motion by: Sherry to approve the minutes and Seconded by Gail and Unanimously approved. Old Business: An extremely long discussion re the APPC joining the Los Altos Community Foundation was held. Since there are still many unanswered questions and concerns regarding this item; Motion by Karen: to table our vote on this item, Seconded by: Sherry and Unanimously approved. Karen had her personal lawyer, Paul Roskoph, read a copy of the LACF agreement and he saw no problems with the document. She wanted to be sure the document was legally acceptable to the Committee and to the LAH Town Council. It was suggested by the attending councilmembers, that the APPC petition the LAH Council to change the original APPC charter. New Business: We were shown a Memorandum from Richard Chu of the Public Parks & Rec. Dept. of the Los Altos Hills Town Council regarding the3 pieces of sculpture the APPC had recommend to the LAH Town Council for installation. Attached to the memorandum were photos of "Blue", "Star Gazers" and "Chocolate" along with pictures of selected sites for each. Richard Chu noted some public safety concerns the Council had with the 3 pieces. These items will be addressed before installation begins. It was pointed out the 3 pictures of the recommended sites for "Blue" were not the ones Karen submitted in her original packet to the Council. Karen and Courtney will speak with Richard about this error and ask that the incorrect ones be replaced with the correct ones and request this be corrected in 24 hours (in time for the scheduled Councils' public meeting on 5/15/14). Karen and Maryam will attend that meeting but will not be scheduled to speak. It was suggested the APPC petition the LAHC to change the original APPC charter so the Committee could accept significant dollar donations for future projects. It was also suggested we present our overall APPC plan to Council clarifying our vision for sculptures on the LAH Town Hall campus and in various locations in Los Altos Hills. Karen informed the APPC that the Los Altos Newsletter, with a major article about our Committee, will be out momentarily. A discussion was held as to how to respond to potential donors when they inquire about donating monies and art, due to this article.
