Members present: Roger Burnell, Maryam Dickey, Karen Druker, Patricia Kreager, Courtney Corrigan,
(arrived 7:45 p.m.), Gail Solomon, Sherry Scott.
Meeting was called to order @7:00 p.m. by Karen. Minutes of August 25 meeting were read by Pat.
Motion by Sherry to approved minutes, as read, Seconded by Maryam and Unanimously approved.
Old Business:
Status of donated sculptures: "Star Gazers" installation is delayed due to a request by the LAH's
engineer, Richard Chiu to have a special inspection for epoxy approval used when this statue is being
installed. LACH will pay the 600 for this inspection. New install date is Oct. 22, 2014.
A log discussion was held regarding the Committee's, previous approval, to request the LAHC for
$10.000. Courtney Corrigan APPC's Council liaison, recommended the APPC defer requesting these
funds. She suggested the Committee wait until the APPC has a specific expense ($ amount) for a
particular urgent project.
Karen reported she had a conversation and correspondence with Gary Waldeck, LAH Coucilman,
regarding the Committee's confusion of donor offers versus donor solicitations. Gary suggested that the
Committee may accept donation offers without the APPC's directly asking a possible donor for a
donation. The Committee still needs clarification on this subject.
New Business:
Karen drafted and read a (2) paragraph statement for the LAHCC: stating APPC's vision and purposed for
the art projects.
Karen and Maryam presented a draft of a power point presentation for the APPC's annual report. The
Committee offered some editing suggestions. Karen will make corrections and Roger will present this to
the Council at their November 101h meeting.
Art "Loaner Program":
Motion by Roger: The Committee will not actively seek a rotational loaner program but, will consider an
occasional loaner art sculpture, when deemed necessary. Seconded: Gail and Unanimously approved.
