HomeMy WebLinkAboutOctober 22LAH Public Art Committee - FINAL Minutes from meeting of October 22, 2018 Called to order 6:00 pm In attendance: Nikki Andrews, Robyn Aber, Farah Tabatabai, Diane Brauch Absent: David Milgram, Stacey Newman, Assoc. Kjell Karlsson Approval of minutes for 9/18 minutes with correction to D & E MOVED: Robyn Aber Seconded: Farah Tabatabai Presentations: None Status of Open Items: a. Update on Digital Art Diane Brauch reported no LAH responses to requests for artists on either NextDoor or from Robyn and Diane's notes to artists except two artists who live out of town but would like to be on the digital art display if possible. We will continue to find artists using Patch, Town Crier, and Craigslist "Call to Artists". Mee-Ching can put a direct link from our page to Drop Box for people to upload images. ACTION: Nikki will send a collection of pics of her art for us to display. ACTION: Robyn will send her note from NextDoor to Nikki Andrews for Nikki to post on Craigslist. b. Paint-off will be non-agendized for the future. No discussion at this meeting. c. Outdoor Art Survey Sierra Azul: David sent a note, read by Nikki, regarding results of voting. Ceramic birds are still in consideration, Steel Olive Head may be too small. Plan to present new options to the council early in 2019. ACTION: Robyn will contact bird artist and enquire about additional bird models and their cost as well as options impacting installation and maintenance. d. Potential art donation updates: Letter of intent is signed to donate $100,000 to town in 2020 for purchase of art. e. We continue to define the final loan art policies and will have it posted as a link from our page on the Town's web site. moved - Diane Brauch, Seconded- Farah Tabatabai ACTION: Members of the PAC will review and send to Debra to post. ​action: David Milgram will rewrite loaner art policies. ​ f. David and Nikki presented our updated accomplishments for the year to the TC. It was very well received. Council was impressed with our presentation and our work. 5. New business: Voted and unanimously accepted Gail Solomon's request to retire from committee but to remain as associate member. Potential loan art policy to be agendized for November meeting. Nikki will contact Jordan Fong at Foothill College regarding rotating student artwork and a call for Foothill College artists. Committee would jury. ACTION: Committee to devise a list of rules for FC call to artists​ ACTION: Farah Tabatabai will bring photos of kinetic artist, Amos Robinson, for us to reconsider at November meeting. 6.
