HomeMy WebLinkAbout27-22RESOLUTION 27-22 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS ACCEPTING THE CONTINUED USE OF THE ALPR SYSTEM IN TOWN PASSED THE PILOT PERIOD WHEREAS, on April 15, 2021, the Los Altos Hills City Council approved the installation of 40 Automatic License Plate Readers cameras (ALPRs) at fixed locations throughout Town for the purposes of deterring crime and helping to create a safer environment for all those who live, work, or visit the Town; and WHEREAS, the Town entered into a 60 -day no -cost pilot program for the system, which ran from February 1, 2022 to March 26, 2022; and WHEREAS, in order to properly review the ALPR system and have a robust discussion on the impact that these cameras have had in Town, on February 17, 2022 the City Council approved of evaluation criteria for the ALPR system; and WHEREAS, the findings of the pilot period show that the ALPR system has had a positive benefit in keeping the Town safe and helping the Santa Clara County Office of the Sheriff investigate crimes. NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills hereby has reviewed the findings of the ALPR system and has approved of the continued use of the camera system in Town passed the pilot period. The above and foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted by the City Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills at a regular meeting held on 17th of March 2022 by the following vote: AYES: Tyson, Swan, Mok, Schmidt, Tanlcha NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None ATTEST: V4kOe4�7� eborah L.
