a.Peter - Pat Ley’s request & EDPC motion for her Juniper trees being “heritage” trees
forwarded to staff
b.Carol - Chance to meet council nominees at an upcoming Zoom call

4.Old Business
a.Tree Ordinance – Vijay and Peter presented to Planning Commission. Ordinance is with
staff now.
i.Neil - Discussed tree restrictions and coastal live oaks. Discussed importance of
fire safety. Discussed Junipers as flammable.
ii.Landscape guidelines to be updated by Peter Brown and changes brought back
to committee. Motion passed. Yeas: Buvana, Carol, Haj, Nancy, Peter, Vijay.

iii.Paul - Discussed how residents can participate.
b.Outdoor Lighting Ordinance – Discussed outdoor lighting ordinance.
i.Motion to let Haj forward the recommended changes to the outdoor lighting
ordinance with Carol’s input on down lights in trees to Planning staff. Yeas:
Buvana, Carol, Haj, Nancy, Peter, Vijay. No’s: None.
c.Wildlife Corridor Fence Amendment – Peter to present to the city council in the near
future.
d.Memo re: clarification of ordinances – Motion passed to let Carol and Vijay send a
memo to Planning Staff requesting clarification on ordinances related to dark sky, fence
heights, and hillside construction practices. Yeas: Buvana, Carol, Haj, Nancy, Peter, Vijay.
