3. Old Business
a. Laptop for scanning is ready for pickup, but has log-on problem. Sally will pick up later.
b. New members are needed. Carol will call Karen Lemes.
c. Mills Act—Nothing new
d. New Plaque for Flagpole—Carol hasn’t heard from Mary Ann.
e. Equipment Purchased—Have scanner . Do not have laptop at this time. Need to be able to
hook into Town IT system when we can get into Heritage House. Need slide projector. Tried
out old one in January, but does not work with laptop.
f. Fall Zoom Presentation—“Tales of Page Mill Road”—Date was Sunday, October 11 at 2 PM.
Presentations went very well. Lots of positive feedback. 54 audience members, 10 panelists
attended.
Denise suggested 10 min for each participant if the future. Some took more time and some
presentations were short. Thought that the presentation could be more condensed.
Status of video--Carol turned in participant release forms. Cody will put on website. Jitze has
Eric Bredo’s presentation.
No one mentioned Interstate 280 being built through Town.
g. Jitze working with Cody to put digital files on website. Jesus doesn’t want to host them on
Town website. Wants to put them on website where agendas are posted. Doesn’t understand
indexing digital data. Roger Spreen will help with making it happen.
Success---50th Anniversary video on Vimeo. Now can get Town website to point to it.
h. Foothill College Zoom Meeting—Nothing new.
i. Replacement date for March walk still up in the air. Probably will be next April, in order to
have access to Morgan Manor. Carol will check with owner to see if it would be available, if
restrictions are clear. Sally wants to start planning on something. Perhaps a walk along the
pathway with social distancing will work. Carol will have to reconnect with Foothill College for
free parking on a Sunday.
j. Plaques for the farm equipment, and other important historical artifacts and locations. Denise
looking a scan codes for history for farm equipment. Heritage trees 2 and 3 have been located in
Byrne Preserve. Maybe a stone with a bronze plaque would work. Heritage Tree #1 plaque has
not weathered well and maybe should be replaced. Iconic trees in Byrne maybe should be
identified. With COVID, more people are gathering around the trees. There is an unused plaque
for tree #4 in storage.
Spraying machine and hay rake (donated by Arlene Reed Taaffe) need to be identified. Denise
Williams will get story behind each piece, perhaps from donors or their families.
Heritage House and handicapped riding barn are possible locations for plaques.
Motion by Jitze to label all three Heritage trees and consider how best to do this with available
funds and longevity of the plaques. Carol to talk to Carl to see how to pursue and see what staff
thinks is best way to proceed and best type of plaques to use. Motion seconded by Sylvia.
Unanimous vote 5-0.
j. Carol talked to Deborah Padovan about box of files from other municipalities. They will be
sent back to those municipalities with note from History Committee. Carol will go through the
clippings with Sylvia Jensen and will report back to Committee before final disposition.
