RESOLUTION 61-22 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS <br />ALTOS HILLS AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER <br />INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH GOVERNMENT TECHNOLOGY <br />GROUP, LLC FOR BROADBAND CONSULTING SERVICES AND <br />APPROPRIATING $95,000 FROM THE UNRESERVED GENERAL FUND <br />FOR FY 2022-23 <br />WHEREAS, access to a reliable internet connection is limited in many areas of Los Altos Hills <br />and expanding access has become an important issue for the Town to address; and <br />WHEREAS, the broadband industry is complex and Town staff lacks the specific knowledge and <br />expertise to move this initiative forward without specialized help; and <br />WHEREAS, to advance this initiative staff solicited six firms and received two proposals from <br />broadband consultants to research and complete a broadband feasibility study for Town; and <br />WHEREAS, the two proposals have been reviewed several times in meetings with staff, the Ad <br />Hoc Emerging Technology Committee, The Technology Committee, and the Ad Hoc Broadband <br />Committee; and <br />WHEREAS, the proposal from Government Technology Group, LLC proved to the best proposal <br />for the Town; and <br />WHEREAS, to allow for staff bandwidth, the update to the Town's website will be deprioritized <br />until later this or early next year as part of the City Council's 2022 Strategic Priorities. <br />NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills hereby authorizes the City <br />Manager to enter into an agreement with Government Technology Group, LLC for broadband <br />consulting services and appropriating $95,000 from the unreserved general fund for FY 2022-23. <br />The above and foregoing Resolution passed and adopted by the City Council of the Town of Los <br />Altos Hills at a regular meeting held on the 16th day of June, 2022, by the following vote: <br />AYES: Tyson, Swan, Mok, Schmidt, Swan <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br />ATTEST: <br />Deborah Padovan, City Clerk <br />BY: <br />George Ty n, M or <br />Resolution 61-22 <br />Page 1 <br />
