RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A FIVE-YEAR
AGREEMENT WITH FLOCK SAFETY FOR 31 AUTOMATIC LICENSE PLATE READER
CAMERAS
WHEREAS, In April 2021, the Town entered into a 3 -year contract with Flock Safety for the installation
and maintenance of 40 ALPR cameras throughout Town; and
WHEREAS, the contract is set to expire on March 31, 2025; and
WHEREAS, Flock notified the Town that the cost of the cameras is increasing from $2,500 to $3,000 per
unit; and
WHEREAS, Town staff worked with the Technology Committee to review the Town's ALPR system
and identified 9 cameras that can be removed from the system while still maintaining full coverage of all
Los Altos Hills streets; and
WHEREAS, On January 30, 2025, the City Council directed staff to negotiate a 5 -year agreement with
Flock Safety for 31 ALPR cameras in Town, saving the Town $7,000 a year on the system from the
reduction in the number of cameras.
NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills does hereby authorize the City
Manager on behalf of the Town to execute the Agreement between the Town of Los Altos Hills and Flock
Safety for the continued use of ALPR cameras in Town.
The above and foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted by the City Council of the Town of Los
Altos Hills at a regular meeting held on the 20th day of February 2025 by the following vote:
