HomeMy WebLinkAbout519 ORDINANCE NO. 519 ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS AMENDING CHAPTER 1, TITLE 12 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE WHEREAS, there are no hourly restrictions for parks and open space preserves, except Byrne Preserve; and WHEREAS, all parks and open space preserves shall be closed to the public during the hours of darkness, NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills does ORDAIN as follows: Section 1. Title 12 Chapter 1, Section 12-1.03 entitled "Byrne Preserve" of the Town Municipal Code shall be amended as follows: Section 12-1.03. Parks and Open Space Preserves It is unlawful for any person to be in any park and open space preserve when closed as set forth in subsection(a) below. (a) Hours. Parks and open space preserves listed in subsection(c) below shall be closed to the public every day from a half-hour after sunset until a half-hour before sunrise, unless authorized in writing by the City Manager or the City Council. (b) Fire Danger. The City Manager shall have authority to close any park and open space preserve listed in subsection (c) below to the public on any day deemed to be a day of high fire danger by the City Manager. In such a case, the City Manager shall post notice of the closure at entrances to the parks and open space preserves requiring closure. (c) Park and open space preserve shall mean the following parks and open space preserves: Byrne Preserve Westwind Barn Purissima Ball Fields Juan Prado Mesa Preserve O'Keefe Preserve Edith Park Section 2. Effective Date and Publication: This ordinance shall become effective thirty (30) days from the date of its passage. Within fifteen (15) days after its passage, this ordinance shall be.published once, with the names of those City Councilmembers voting for or against it, in a newspaper of general circulation and posted within the Town of Los Altos Hills in three public places.
