MINUTES OF AN ADJOURNED REGULAR MCCTING
February 121 1967
The Adjourned Regular Meeting of the Planning Commission of the Town of
Los Altos Hills was called to order Tuesday, February 14, 1967 by Chairman
Tilton F. Minckley at 7:50 P. rd, at the Town Hall, 26379 Fremont Road,
Los Altos Hills, California.
ROLL CALL: PRESENT: Commissioners Benson, Bowler, Hibner, Sherlock,

ACTION:
Adopt Minutes of January 23, 1967 as
corrected.

VOTE: Passed unanimously.
COMMUNICATIONS:
1. Communication from Mrs. E. L. Ginzton, Vice -Chairman of Pathways
Committee, relative to priority list and requesting a meeting with
Councilman Davey and Chairman Minckley at their convenience to go
over the reco;amendations of the Pathways Committee prior to Planning
Commission action.
Chairman Minckley tentatively scheduled this meeting for Thursday,
rebruary 23rd, a regular meeting of the Pathways C=Iittee and
extended an invitation to all Commissionars to join in this meeting.
2. Com:x'unication from bars. 3. L. Ginzton, Vice -Chairman of Pathways
Committee dated February 6, 1967, regarding the Master Plan for Paths
and Open Spaces, Priority Path List II attached, was read by City
Manager........... Chairian Minckley stated this matter will be
discussed at the Committee meeting scheduled for Fabruary 23rd, and
instructac the City Manager to agenda this item for the Commission's
meeting on March 27th.

Copy of letter to City Council from Los Altos Hills Association regard-
ing sewering was read by City Manager, who reported the request was
partially taken care of by the Mayor at the February 6th meeting by
appointing Mr. W. A. Perkins Chairman of a Drainage Conmittee and
initiating the Sewer Committee by asking for volunteers.
Planning Connission concurred no action was necessary at this point but
to show interest.

Communication from Nestor Barrett to City Manager reporting on the
progress of the Central Drive Area study was read by Chairman Minckley.
mn4ssioner Hibner reported on the exploratory field trip of this area
accompanied by Mr. Barrett, Bngr. Nachtsheim and the City Manager.
Commissioner Benson, a member of the Mid -Peninsula Committee for the
past year, submitted a Staff Report of the San Alateo County Planning
Cormnission on Slope Density Control, which proposes a formula for slopes
over 30% to require 0acres of land. He suggested Lngr. Nachtshein
study this report and report to the Commission.
Chainaan Minckley stated he welcomed the reports of Commissioners who
were members of other functioning bodies and expressed thz Commission's
appreciation and awareness of its value.

City manager reported he had written the Town of Portola Valley for its
new grading ordinance, a copy of which will be given to Bngr. Nachtsheim
for study.
Commissioner Hibner pointed out that 4.1% of the ,area being studied by
Mr, Barrett is in excess of the 309 gradient.

Memorandum dated February 13, 1967 from City Manager to Planning
Commission reporting the progress of designating the Junipero Serra
Freeway within the Town as a "Scenic Highway" was read by Chairman
Mincklay.

Memorandum dated February T3, 1967 from City Manager to Planning Commission
re prohibition of trucks on Junipero Serra Freeway read by Chairman
Minckley........... No action was taken on the matter.
ANNOUNCEMZNTS:
1.
Chairman Hinckley announced that the resignation of Planning Cocuaissioner
Melvin L. Hawley had been received and accepted by the City Council at
its abruary 6th mieeting, and expressed the appreciation of the Commission
for Mr. Hawley's contributions. Sinc3 the Office of Secretary is now
vacant, Chairman Minckley ordered that Nominations be accepted under

Cnairnan Minckley declared that nominations were in order for the
Offices of Secretary vacated by Mr. Hawley,

Cairiian Minckley declared the nominations closed and that Commission-:r
Hibnar will serve as Secretary until January 23, 1968, with the full
approval of t::,e Planning Commission.
OTHER BUSINESS:
1. Sine: the recent Agendas have been short, Cinairnan Minckley expressed
his int,ntions to schedule study sessions after each meeting and re-
qu_-stad the Commissioners to suggest at the next meeting tht objectives
the Commission wishes to accomplish this next year.
