4W MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING
March 11, 1963
Chairman W. F. Minckley called the meeting to order at 7:45 P. M. at the Town
Hall, 26379 Fremont Road, Los Altos Hills, California. The following members
answered Roll Call: Present: Commissioners Bowler, Dawson, Hibner, Perkins,
Sherlock and Chairman Minckley. Absent: Commissioner Lachenbruch (art. 7:49).
COUNCIL REPRES3ENTATIVE: Councilman John M. Fowle
APPROVAL OF MIOUTES: February 26, 1968.
Amendment: P. 3, Slope Density Formula, definition of N should be:
"1! = maximum number of dwelling units".
MOTION, SECONDED AND CARRIED: Commissioner Hibner moved, Seconded by Sherlock,
and carried unanimously, that the Minutes of February 26, 1968 be approved as
amended.
ANNOUNCEn2NTS:
1. Chairman Hinckley noted that the University of California Extension/
60 Santa Cruz will conduct a workshop on the Planning Process on Saturday,
March 23, 1568.
2. Chairman nlmckley noted that the tentative maps of Edward Heidler (33;-68),
Joseph J. Szabo (340-68) and Deer Park Acres (342-63) had been withdrawn from
the Agenda since the slope exceeded twenty-five percent in all three proposed
subdivisions.
Commissioner Lachenbruch arrived at 7:49 P. M.
COUNCIL WWRALS:
City i%4anager noted that City Councilmen were present and would discuss slope
density in a joint session with the Commission following completion of the
Agenda.
OLD BUSINESS:
1. Roman Catholic Orphanage (UP -264-66) - Approval of Site Development Plan.
Staff report was presented, noting that the site development plan has been
submitted pursuant to the conditions of approval of the use permit. The
maximum cut and fill will not exceed one foot with a maximum cubic yardage
of 315. Commissioner Dawson noted that the Trail Committee would like an
easement Wrough the property.
MOTION, SECONDED AND CARRIED: Commissioner Dawson moved, Seconded by Bowler
and carried unanimously, that the Commission recommend approval of the Ronan
Catholic Orphanage Site Development Plan, subject to the granting of an
additional easement to connect the old entrance from Moody Road to the mostnorth-
easterly corner of the adjoining Martinelli Property.

1. Discussion on Bicycle Paths - Commissioner Dawson.
Commissioner Dawson presented and reviewed memo and map prepared by Path
Committee, noting recom:aended location of bike routes (to be so designated
by signs) and also noting recommended location for installation of asphalt
bike routes. Commission discussion ensued with Floor participation by
"ors. Ginzton, Vice -Chairman of the Patin Corsuittee.
Commission concurred that Staff should agenda this matter for a Study Session
and requested that the fallowing information be provided: 1) that the Path
Committee formulate z. priority list of proposed paths and determine the
installed cost for signs along the street designating bike routes; 2) that
the Staff report on the limits of the Town's liability in regard to bike
routes and also report on the cost of improving road shoulders.
VARIANCSS:
1, Mulling, H, G. (V-300-68) - Request for 10' reduction in both side
setbacks for new residence it 24743 Olive Tree Lane (Lot #5, Tract 17 5J).
Staff report was presented and letters objecting to the variance request
from the following neighbors were read: Ken Lnus, 26627 Olive Tree Leh,
Dr. & Mrs. Phillip G. Armi, 24721 Olive Use Lane, and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur L.
Powers, 2,:-/eO Olive Tree Lane.
Commissioner Hibnar, of the Map Committee, reported on the property and
recommender. denial due to the proposed nearness to the Anii house. Commission
discussion ensued with Floor participation by Mr. Mulling, who noted that tm
above neighbors `nd previously approved the variance request.
MOTION, Sr',COHD D A17D CARRIED: Commissioner Lachenbruch moved, Seconded by
Dawson and oirri2d unanimously, that, pursuant to Section 65-506 of the State
Planning act, the Commission recommend denial of Mr. E. G. varinnce
application V-300-68.

Staff report was presented, noting that no objections had been raceived.
Commissioner Hibner, of the dap Committee, reported on the proporty, noting
that there are driveways on two sides of the property and recommending approval.
MOTION, ScCONDSD -LID CARRIED: Commissioner hibner moved, Secondee by Bowler
and carri2d unanimously, that, pursuant to Section 65-906 of the State Planning
Act, the Co,e.tission racomaend approval of the variance application of
S. G. ,.hittelsey (V-301-68) for 7' reduction in side setback to 33' from
property line for stable and patio cover.
