HomeMy WebLinkAbout55-00 • • RESOLUTION NO. 55-00 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS INITIATING PROCEEDING FOR THE REORGANIZATION OF CERTAIN INHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS "AMIGOS COURT" TO THE TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS WHEREAS, the Town of Los Altos Hills desires to provide municipal services to property within its Urban Service Area boundary in return for annexation of such property; and WHEREAS, the proposed annexation to the Town of Los Altos Hills consisting of all that unincorporated territory commonly known as 24460 Summerhill Avenue and 24480, • 24490 and 24510 Amigos Court, in the County of Santa Clara is in the Town's Urban Service Area proposed for annexation to the Town of Los Altos Hills pursuant to Division 3, commencing with Section 56000 et seq. of the Government Code; and WHEREAS, it appears to the satisfaction of the Town Council that all the owners of land included in the proposal desire to annex to the Town of Los Altos Hills in order to receive municipal services. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills does hereby RESOLVE as follows: 1. The City Council is the conducting authority and hereby initiates annexation proceedings pursuant to Section 56826 of the Government Code. Proceedings of the Los Altos Hills City Council shall be held pursuant to Section 57000 et. seq. 2. The territory proposed to be annexed is designated as the "Amigos Court" annexation, and the boundaries are described and shown in Exhibits A and B. 3. The territory proposed to be annexed is inhabited as defined by Section 56046 of the Government Code. 4. The reason for the proposed annexation is to properly plan and provide municipal service to the area which is contiguous to the Town. 5. A hearing will be held on August 17, 2000, at a meeting of the City Council beginning at 7:00 p.m., in the Council Chambers of Town Hall, 26379 Fremont Road, Los Altos Hills, California, during which the City Council will hear protests against annexation. 6. Since the territory is inhabited, the law provides that any owner of land within the territory or any registered voter residing within the territory may file a written protest against the annexation with the Town Clerk at any time prior to the conclusion of the Town Council's hearing on the proposed annexation. The proposed annexation has been determined to be.categorically exempt (class 19) pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). 8. The Clerk of the City Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills is directed to give notice of the hearing on the proposed annexation to be given as provided in Section 57025 and Sections 56150-56159 of the Government Code, and said notice shall include all information specified in Section 57025 of the Government Code.
