Home My WebLink About04-08 • • RESOLUTION NO. 4-0 8 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR PREPARATION OF CONSTRUCTION DRAWINGS FOR THE EL MONTE ROAD/FOOTHILL COLLEGE PATHWAY AND BICYCLE LANE (SEGMENT 3) WHEREAS, the Town of Los Altos Hills appropriated $600,000.00 for the 3rd and final segment of the El Monte Road/Foothill College Segment Pathway and Bicycle Lane; and WHEREAS, CSG Consultants submitted the attached PS & E proposal at the request of the City Manager; and WHEREAS, the staff has reviewed the proposal and recommends that the contract for said project be awarded to, CSG Consultants for the amount of $64,402.00 including contingency; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills that the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to execute the awarded contract to the above-named firm on behalf of the To of Los Altos Hills. Scope of work includes: • Topographic survey • Conversion of the existing median into a pathway median similar to the segment to the east. Installation of ADA compliant ramps where necessary. • Construction of a new median island on the western side of the College Loop Road intersection. This median island will provide a pedestrian refuge on the eastern side and the western side will provide a location for installation of an entry monument sign. • Construction of a new sidewalk along the northern side of El Monte between Stonebrook Road and College Loop Road. New sidewalk may be constructed of AC, any retaining walls necessary shall be of wood construction. • Revise the two existing traffic signals at College Loop and Stonebrook intersections. Revisions to include addition of pedestrian phases as required, revisions to phase diagrams to accommodate new ped phases and revisions to poles and signal heads as required. • Landscape and irrigation design for the new median area(s) and landscape and irrigation for the Segment 2 pathway area through the Foothill College campus. ,1 Assumptions include: • Electronic versions of the construction plans for Segment 2 Pathway will be made available to use as base sheets for landscape design. • The Town will provide as-built plans for the two existing signal systems. As-built information to include existing phasing, equipment schedule and wiring diagram and schedule. • Details for foundation requirements (if any) for the new entry monument will be provided by the Town in a timely manner. Size and other general design requirements will be provided by the Town, including electrical requirements. • No other remedial design for existing curbs,pavement, etc. is included in the scope of this project. • The Town will provide an electronic copy of their boiler plate specifications to be used for the project. • Assistance during bidding and construction support and inspection are not included as part of this scope and will be defined as a later date. • Assumes that the existing signal controllers and electrical service equipment is adequate and will not have to be replaced. - The design cost estimate for this project is $61,402, which includes the landscaping subconsultant.
