HomeMy WebLinkAbout377 ORDINANCE NO. 377 AN ORDINANCE OF, THE TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS UPDATING THE CONFLICT OF INTEREST CODE WHEREAS, the Town of Los Altos Hills wishes to update its conflict of interest.code to reflect changes in state law and new Town positions; NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills does ORDAIN as follows: 1. AMENDMENT TO CODE. Sections 2-6.10 through 2-6.14 of Chapter 6 of Title 2 of the Los Altos Hills Municipal Code are hereby renumbered respectively to Sections 2-6.11 through 2-6.15. 2. AMENDMENT TO CODE. Section 2-6.10'-of Chapter 6 of Title 2 is hereby added to the Los Altos Hills Municipal Code to read: Section 2-6.10 . Prohibitions (A) No designated employee shall accept any honorarium. (B) No designated employee shall accept any gifts with a total value of more than two hundred eighty dollars ($280)in a calendar-year from any single source. 3. AMENDMENT OF CODE. Section 2-6.11(E)-of Chapter 6 of Title 2 of the Los Altos Hills Municipal Code is hereby amended to read: (E) Any donor of, or any intermediary or agent for a donor of, a gift or gifts aggregating $280 or more in value provided to, received by, or promised_ to the designated employee within 12 months prior to the time when the decision is made. 4. AMENDMENT TO CODE. Chapter 6'of Title 2 of the Los Altos Hills Municipal Code is hereby amended by replacing the existing Appendix with the Appendix attached hereto as Exhibit A. 5. SEVERABILITY. If any part of this ordinance is held to be invalid or inapplicable to any situation by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance or the applicability of this ordinance to other situations. 6. EFFECTIVE DATE: POSTING. This ordinance shall become effective thirty (3 0) days from the date of its passage, and shall be posted.within the Town,of Los Altos Hills in three (3)public places. Such written determination shall include a description of the consultant's duties and,based upon that description,a statement of the extent of disclosure requirements.
