HomeMy WebLinkAbout02/18/1956MINUTES OF THE PLANNING COb'Q✓LISSION OF LOS ALTOS HILLS, CALIFORNIA FEBRUARY 18, 1956 The meeting of the planning commission of Los Altos Hills was called to order by the Chairman, William Simrell, Jr., at 9715 A. M., February 18, 1956 at Purissima School, Los Altos Hills, California. Upon roll call, the following members were present : William Simrell, Jr., Thomas Sherlock, Raymond Hoefler, Proctor Mquist, James H. Stedman, Cedric Maeabee, Charles Mc- Candless and Henry G. Paulman; absent, Richard Bullis and Richard Dawson. There was a discussion pertaining to the Shipkey property. After considerable discussion, Mr. Hoefler recommended having a minimum of 1501 frontage with a minimum depth of 2001 on all subdivision lots. Mr. Simrell will consider personnel of the planning com- mission for various committees and will report back at the next meeting. Upon the recommendation of Mr. Macabee in an sw er to Mr. Otto Broetts request for road improvements leading to his property and proposed subdivision of his land, it was suggested that Mr. Brost have an engineer submit a tentative map showing the division of his property into the two or three lots that he has suggested including contours of not less than 101 inter- -4w Lvals and showing the present building site and excavations for said building s. Consideration should be given to the common line of property facing Josefa Avenue parallel with the fruit trees but appearing as near as possible to Josefa Avenue. The road right-of-way to Josefa Avenue should be considered at a minimum of 601. The roadway to be constructed by Mr. Brost would be at a minimum of 24' in width inclining the shoulders and of red rock composition 6" in compacted tlickness. It will be considered a private lane and excluded from the maintenance of the Town of Los Altos Hills. It would also be required that Mr. Brost submit cash or bond in the amount to be specified equivalent to his front footage cost of the improvement of Josefa Avenue when and if improved according to standards set forth by the town engineer. The recommendation made by Mr. Macabee was re -explained by Mr. McCandless to the plannigv, commission. On motion of recommendation by Mr. Hoefler, Mr. Brost must put up the necessary cash for the paving of the road or furnish a bond at the time of the regular survey, the amount will be established for the length of 440' plus. Motion was seconded by Mr. Sherlock, and, upon roll call, was carried unanimously. A letter from Mr. Macabee's office, signed by Mr. Jost, with three (3) prints of Retard of Survey for Mr. Jack Snell, W. Fremont Avenue, was presented and read by Mr. Simrell. The letter was referred back to Mr. Macabee for clarification, and, Kn - 2 - in turn, Town Clerk Paulman was requested to write Mr. Jost to appear at the next meeting of the planning commission and to be accompanied by Mr. Snell if he wished. The tentative map for Mr. Harry Shipkey was referred to Town Engineer McCandless for checking and he will report back at the next meeting. The application for Mr. Fitzsimmon's subdivision was re- ferred to Town Engineer McCandless for further consideration. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned until 8 P.
