HomeMy WebLinkAbout04/24/1957[ PLANNING COMMISSION �r TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS ,MINUTES OF ADJOURNED MEETING APRIL 24, 1957 The meeting was called to order by Chairman Richard Bullis at 7:45 P.M., Wednesday, April 24, 1957, Town Hall, 26379 West Fremont, Los Altos Hills. ROLL CALL: PRESENT: Commissioners Tantau, Sherlock, Williams, Powell, Mellquist, Dawson, Chairman Bullis. ABSENT: Commissioner Stedman (on leave). MINUTES: April 4, Motion: Sherlock; Second: Mellquist; Vote: Passed RECOMMENDATION: Move the Minutes of April 4, 1957, be accepted as submitted. CORRESPONDENCE: 1. William E.Ev s, April 8, 1957, 709 Vine, Menlo � daressed a letter to the Fremont Hills Development Company and sent a copy to the Planning Commission. Mr. Evans is requesting that certain changes be made in the power line locations. Letter was filed for information. 2. The City Clerk and Building Inspector presented a copy of a Notice of Hearing which will be used for Variances and Use Permits. 3. John Hope, April 17, 1957, Chief Administrator, My— of Los Altos, sent notification that Los Altos was in agreement with the Town of Los Altos Hills in protesting the Solheim Lutheran Home for the Aged. 4. Lists have been prepared of Maps Approved by the Planning Commission and those Pending Approval. 5. Chairman Bullis presented a form letter which was prepared by Paul W. Salfen, Building Inspector, for #4W use in presenting maps to the City Council for approval. J,W NEW BUSINESS: 4 L -2- 1. The Revised Subdivision Ordinance will be mailed within a week to all Commissioners for study. 2. The Planning Commissioners are requested to submit all suggestions for new members to Chairman Bullis before May 2, 1957. VARIANCES: I. Nob1a�t,� (v-6-57) Edgeoliif�ve,,reduction of sideyard to 15'. Memorandum from Building Inspector, April 18, 1957, recommended denial of variance. Letters were received and read from adjoining property owners who are opposed to granting this variance and also letters from neighbors who do not object. Mrs. Hoefler, Hillview Drive, Los Alton Hills, spoke in favor of this variance. John Price, 12215 Edgeoliff, and Charles McCandless, La Loma, spoke in opposition. Motion: Sherlock; Second: Mellquist; Vote: Passed Powell - 'no' RECOMMENDATION: Move this Variance be denied. RECORD OF SURVEY: 1. RM ¢aye- (72-57) Tentative Map dated January 28, 19W. neer: Rheinoehl. Resubdivision of lots 6,7,13. Motion: Sherlock; Second: Tantau; Vote: Passed Unanimously Move the approval of this Record of Survey. SUBDIVISION: 1. 40112 Peters (Pink Horse Ranch) (70-57) 'Tentative map caved s 12, 1957, revised April 9, 1957. 7 lots. Engineer: lfolte. -2- -3- 4r Motion: Sherlock; Second: Mellquist; Vote: Passed. Powcll - `no'; willic9s - abstain. RECOMMENDATION: Move approval of th?3 map with tha condition that the access road El Monte be brought up to Tov..n Standards either by the creation of an assessment district or the charging of a flat fee by the Town per lot. This fee to bs arrived at by consultation with the Planning Commission and Toxn Engineer. 2. Fremont Hills #4 - Tentative Map dated March 25. 1957, 57 lots,7pL.G. Brian Motion: Sherlock; Second: Williams; Vote: Passed Unanimously RECOMMENDATION: Move the approval of the Tentative Map ^ of the Fremont Hills Development Company subject to: a. 6' pathway between lots 25,26 and 33,34. b. extension of Street "c" Block A to serve adjacent property. c. minor realignment of Street "f" in the vicinity of lots 6 and 29, Block D. d. General P Ilie Easement along the southerly south- easterly tract -line along lots 21,22,23 to standard width and standard improvement. 3. B19 gg Hills (Charlie Monroe) (74-57) Tentative W a ed pA rill 1957. 8 lots. Engineer: Marvin Wolff. Motion: Tantau; Second: Williams; Vote: Passed RECOMMENDATION: Move the approval of this tentative map with non-acaess t to Elena for lot P. 4. B Estates (2-5?) Tentative map dated January, i� acres on O'Keefe Lane. Seen at Council meeting of 4/8/57 and was referred beek to the Planning Commission. Motion: Powell; Second: Williaae; Vote: Passed Uasaimously 44W -3- %r -4 - RECOMMENDATION: Move we accept this map for Broadmoor Estates as submitted accepting the subdivider's offer to improve O'keefe Lane to County Standards as per proposal submitted showing profile and grades from the bridge to the property line of the subdivision, and improve O'Keefe where it borders the subdivision to Town Standards. PRELIMINARY DISCUSSION: 1. L. Cedric Macebee - Tentative Map dated February, "57:—Fl3t-s-o f- of Elena Avenue and Yuba Avenue. 11 plus acres. Need to bring cul-de-sac up to Town Standards (40' radius). Otherwise, the Commission felt the map was adequate. 2. M�r _ a c & MMr Wil_s_o Tentative Map dated April�� 9S4 acres. gurissima Avenue opposite La raloma. Engineer: Rheinoehl. Mrs. Kirkpatrick desires to locate one lot and does not went to damage future development of the land. MEETING ADJOURNED: 11:00 P.M.
