M., Saturday, Se tember 21, 1957 at the Town Hall, 26379 west Fremont, Los Altos Hills, by Com- missioner Dawson in the absence Chairman Tantau. ROLL CALL: PRESENT: Commissioners Dawson, Mellquist, Spain, Stedman, Williams, Sherlock ABSENT: Commissioner Bullis, Chairman Tantau MINUTES: September 122, I= The following corrections were mads. The minutes were of an "adjourned" meeting. Page 2, Item ?A. Correct to read "approval of all agencies" instead of "all agency approval". Page 1, Item .'#3. Correct to read "Preliminary 'review' by the Flanning Commission at the meeting of t July 2, 195'7, instead of "Freiiminary �r 'approval' by the Flaming Commission at the meeting of July 2, 1957. Page 3, Para. ;#5. Mr. Mellqulat's name is to be deleted from the Map Committee list. ACTION: That the minutes of September 12, 1957 be approved with corrections. MOTION: Spain; SECOND: Mellquist; VOTE: Passed Unanimously September ACTION: That the minutes of September 5. 1957 be approved. MOTION: Spain; SECOND: Mellquist; VOTE: Passed Unanimously 1. Commissioner Dawson will confer with City Attorney Bullis for clarification, and the matter will be taken up at the next meeting. -2- 2. W. A. Edson, Re; Record of Survey - 2 lots on S. E1 Monte. #► This correspondence was put over to be taken up as New Business. 3. The Tri -Counts Planning Council. Re: A Seminar to be held. A Seminar on "The Legal Aspects of Planninngg" will be held, be- ginning at 10:00 A. M., Saturday, October 26, 1957, at the Vet- erans Memorial Building, 1455 Madison Avenue., Redwood City, California. The letter will be filed. 4. McCandless & Jett. Re: Request for completion schedule from TrFamont 11,11s.e letter will be filed. 5. Santa Clara Counts HeQth DQDarEmeat. Re: Survey of the water sys7e m the area. serving long Ford Vounvry Day School and other dwellings in Result of the survey Is -that the supply of water is adequate, but the quality is questionable due to the poor source. The Santa Clara County Health Department recommends annexation to the Purissima County Water District. The letter will be filed. 6. Santa Clara Countr CountPlanning Commission. Re: Announcement of its reguiar meetings. A request for agendas for these meetings will be sent to the Santa Clara County Planning Commission. 7. Re: Water rights and�ifi9 prote_cction o as; r gats. The letter will be filed. OLD BUSINESS: 1. Road Abandonment - Chapin Avenue - Frank L. Taylor City Engineer McCandless reported that after an on site inspection, he saw no reason for keeping this road. Map Committee Chairman Stedman reported that from a planning view- ` point, this road is of no value to the Town of Los Altos Hills. RECOMMENDATION: That this unused portion of Chapin Road be abandoned. -3 - MOTION: mququist; SECOND. Approved for b planning y the Planning Commission at its meeting of August 1, 1957. Mr. Cooley appeared. Letter from Fire 0hief Bassett of the Los Altos Fire District was read raising the question of fire protection in this area. RECOMMENDATION: That the Planning Commission approve this Record of Survey (90-57) subject to the receipt of a letter of approval from Fire Chief Bassett, and that the final map show a thirty (30) foot dedication from the center of Elena Ave. MOTION: Williams; SECOND: Mellquist; VOTE: Passed Unanimously b) Hugh M n (80-57) 3 lots - Engr. Nolte. Re -appearance at request Mrs. Monahan regarding entrance road to Lot #2. Mrs. Monahan and Mr. Floyd appeared. RECOMMENDATION: That the Planning Commission approve this Record of Survey (80-57) 3 lots of Hugh Monahan, subject to the establish- ment of a common private road, serving the three (3) lots, with a turning circle of a twenty-five (25) foot radius, and subject to all other agency approvals; also including the agreement of the Hugh Monahan to improve the road from the Daiss and Harris driveways to the Monahan property line. MOTION: Stedman; SECOND: Williams; VOTE: Passed Unanimously NEW BUSINESS: 1. Record of 3urve9 a) W. A. Edson - (81-57) 2 lots. Engr. Nolte. Mr. Edson and his attorney, Mr. Clark, appeared. -4 - RECOMMENDATION: That the W. A. Edson Record of Survey be approved by the `► Planning Commission subject to future approval of the fire district as to water supply and access, and subject to payment of drainage, road improvement, and other fees in effect at the time of application for a building permit.
