Thursday October 3, 1957, by Chairmen Dawson, at the Town Hall, 2�i379 West hemont, Los Altos Hills: ROLL CALL: FRESENT: Chairman Dawson, Sherlock, Spain, Stedman, Williams ABSENT: Bullis, Mellquist,.Tantau MINUTES: September 21, Commissioner Sherlock stated, in reference to the recommend- ation by the Planning Commission of the Edson Record of Sur- vey, that the Planning Commission does not have authority to determine fees or set time of payment of fees. Councilman Hoefler was nresent and agreed that the Town has ordinances covering the payment of fees. ACTION: That the minutes of September 216 1957 be approved with a note included in the W. A. Edson Record of Survey stating that the Planning Commission does not have power to do* tormine fees or set the time fees are to be paid, as this is covered by City Ordinances. MOTIONS Spain; SECOND: Stedman; VOTE: Passed Unanimously CORRESPONDENCE: 1. Tri�Cou' 97/ Council - Minutes of Cuarterly Dinner Meeting, The minutes of this meeting will be filed. 2. County Bound ar7 Commigoion - Notice of proposed annexation. The proposed annexation`to the City of Mountain View is designated as "San Antonio A". Referred to the City Cduncil. 3. City of Eq I A os - Notice of proposed annexation. %W The proposed annexation to the City of Los Altos is designated as "Fremont -Truman #311. Referred to the City Council. -2- 4. The City of Igo Altos - Notice of proposed annexation. The proposed annexation to the City of los Altos is designated as "Magdalena h2". The proposed annexation contains twenty-two (22) parcels, with the signatures of nine (9) property owners on the petition. Commissioner Spain suggested that the Town of Los Altos Hills and the City of Los Altos meet with the County of Santa Clara in order to develop a course of action to avoid "spotty" annexation of prop- erties lying within the County area between the City of Los Altos and the Town of Los Altos Hills. Commissioner Spain was asked by Chairman Dawson to draft a letter to this effect to the City Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills. NEW BUSINESS: 1. Variances a) C. J. Clark (V-15-57) Reduction of Sideyard to 201. RECOMMENDATION: `r That the Planning Commission approve the variance of C. J. Clark (V-15-57) for reduction of sideyard to 201. MOTION: Williams; SECOND: Sherlock VOTE: AYES: Sherlock, Williams NOES: Chairman Dawson, Spain, Stedman ACTION: Variance denied. 2. Records of Survey a) E. C. Cooley (94-57) 1 lot. Engr. Wolff. First appearance. Commissioner Stedman,•reported as Chairman of Map Committee, that the Fire Chief had approved this Record of Survey. RECOMMENDATION: That the Planning Commission approve the Record of Survey of E. C. Cooley (94-57) 1 lot for plaing purposes, sub- ject to receipt of the unqualinnfied approval of all agencies. MOTION: Spain; SECOND:. Stedman; Vote: Passed Unanimously 3. Subdivisions a) Hugh L. Monahan (59-56) 7 lots. Engr. Nolte. Commissioner Stedman, as Chairman of the Map Committee, reported -3 - that the Fire District reported that the present water supply is inadequate, and the access roadways are unsatisfactory for fire protection. Recommendation of the Nap Committee: That the subdivision maps of Hugh L. Monahan (59-57) 7 lets, be sent to the County for its decision regarding the Colvin property, which abutte the Monahan property on the South and situated in the County. Mrr, wonahan and Mr. Floyd, engineer, appeared. b) Kammer Gardens (93-57) 7 lots. Engr. Nolte. Mr. Floyd appeared to represent the owner. Commissioner Stedman reported the recommendation of the Map Committee: That the owner of Summer Gardens (93-57) 7 lots, re- deLga the cul-de-sac to extend it and give access and service to the lot presently shown on the map "as not apart of this sub- division'. Access to Elena to be from the cul-de-sac only. c) Martha Werle (92-57) 7 lots. Engr. McKay & Somps. Mr. Ray Hoefler represented Mrs. Werle. Commissioner Stedman reported that it is the opinion of the Map Committee that this is an 8-10t subdivision rather than a 7 -lot subdivision. The Planning Commission will meet and study the map further and will schedule it on the agenda for the meeting of Saturday, Oct- ober 19, 1957. d) Fremont Hills i2 (91-57) 54 lots. Engr. L. G. Brian Mr. Price and Mr. Riley represented Fremont Hills. It was the opinion of the planning Commission that the road access is inadequate for fire protection and that the water supply is questionable. Mr. Riley stated that the Purissima Water District will provide service to this area. The Commission will make further study of this subdivision, and will consider it again at its next meeting.
