MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING
November 16, 1957
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Dawson at 8:50 A. M.,
Saturday, November 16, 1957 at the Town Hall, 26379 West Fremont,
Los Altos Hills.
ROLL COL.- PRESENT: chairman Dawson, Sherlock, Spain, Stedman,
Williams
ABSENT: Bullis, Tantau, Mellquist
MINUTES: Novem er Z, 1M.
Commissioner Spain questioned whether or not the Planning
Commission had taken formal action hiring a professional
planner.
ACTION:
That Mr. Barrett be retained as professional planner
on an hourly basis.
MOTION: Sherlock; SECOND: Stedman
VOTE: AYES: Chairman Dawson, Sherlock, Stedman, Williams
NOES: Spain
Correct minutes as follows: New Business, Item #1:
E. P. Garth - should read "Preliminary discussion of maps
showing previous divisions".
ACTION:
Adopt minutes of November 7, 1957 as corrected.
CORRESPONDENCE:
1. City gf L&g Altos: Announcement of public hearing to be held.
Public hearing will be held December 12, 1957, 8 P. M., City Hall,
Los Altos regarding the Community Facilities Plan.
The Planning Commission will.be represented at the hearing.
NEW BUSINESS:
1. Road A andonment - Jack Hall. Request for abandonment of portion
or Ro e a venue.
Mr. and Mrs. Hall appeared with Mr. Wolff, engineer.

Mra and Mrs. Abidano, adjoining property owners, appeared to
pprotest this Abandonment, explaining that that portion of
Robleda Avenue is the only access road'to theft property.
RECOMMENDATION:
That the Planning Commission re -affirm its previous decision
and deny the request to abandon this portion of Robleda Avenue.
MOTION: Spain; Motion failed for lack<of'Second. '
RECOMMENDATION:
That the matter be referred to the Map Committee with the
suggestion that the Halle and the Avidanos try to arrive at
a mutual agreement between themselves.
MOTION: Williams; Seodnd:+ Stedman
VOTE: AYES: Chairman Dawson, Williams, Stedman, Sherlock

2. Variances:

`w Mr. Courneea and Mr. Riley appeared to explain maps and tentative
plans.
A letter from residents in the area was read, requesting post-
ponement of: action on this variance until they have been better
informed'as to. the .plans of the proposed Country Club. Mr: and
Mss. Belenky and Mr. and Mrs. Henry, signers of the letter, ap-
peared.
The Pianning Committee agreed to study the map and list specifi-
cations and conditions for the proposed Country Club' and report
at the next meeting, December 50•
It was noted that suggestions from residents is the area will be
welcome and will be accepted at the next regular meeting of the
Planning Commission on December 52 at 7:45 P. M.
5. Subdivisions:
Fremont Hills Unit #5 - 60 lots. Engr. Brian.
Mr. Courneen and Mr. Riley appeared.
Commissioner Stedman proposed that the decision should be held
over until Mr. Barrett has made a study of the road pattern.

RECOMMENDATION:
4W That the road pattern of Fremont Hills Unit #5, Map #776A be
approved by the Planning Commission with the following oondl-
tions:
That the lot lines of lots #16, 17, 18, 19, and 20 in
Block "A" will not be finalized, nor will any of the lot
lines be finalized 1n Block "B" until results are re-
ceived of a study by Mr. Barrett and the Planning Com-
mittee to determine the Right -of -Way for a through Road.
The Planning Committee is authorized to make its decision
at the meeting of December 5, 1957.
MOTION: Williams; SECOND: Spain; VOTE: Passed Unanimously
4. PRELIMINARY DISCUSSION:
gertz Realty - 3 iota. Engr. Reinoehl.
Mr. &ertz and Mr. Reinoehl appeared.
Following a study of the preliminary maps presented by Mr.
Reineshl, it was agreed that Mr. Xertz should proceed to have a
tentative map drawn and formally submitted to the Planning Com-
mission.
STUDY SESSION: Saturday, 8:30 A. M., November 23, 1957 at the Town
Rall of the Planning Committee and Mr. Barrett to
discuss a through Road in Fremont Hills Unit #5.
MEETING ADJOUMD: 11:10 A. M.
NEXT REGULAR MEETING: Thursday, 7:45 P. M., December 5, 1957 at the
Town Rall, 26379 West Fremont, Los Altos Rills.
