MINUTES
--Commissioner Young stated in the Minutes of April 10, 1974,
Page 3, first paragraph, it should state that when a developer
has complied with all the rules and regulations of the Town;
it is incumbent on the Planning Commission to apPTove the sub-
division_.
Assistant Planning Consultant Vlasic stated on Page 2, Pare -
graph 2, under Dawn Ridge Estates, the Council did not deny
the subdivision without prejudice, but referred it back tc
the Planning Commission for further study.
Motion was made by Commissioner SPENCER. seconded by Commis5107-
er PHILLIPS, the Minutes of April 10, 1974, be approved an cor-
rected. Motion was carried with Commissioner I.achenbruc`. ar-
staining.
Motion was made by Commissioner PERKINS, seconded by Commission-
er CARICo, the Commission have a study session at the next
meeting regarding Commissioner Phillips' comments on ruralness".

The college wants to remove the house, as the state will give
the college more funds for building a new structure than. for

Mrs. Fava requested guidelines for putting the Town's hi.stc.-

Commissioner Carico requested a copy of Ordinance No. 213,-.
which deals -with historical sites, be forwarded to the Commis-
sioners.
Mrs. Fava stated that Adobe Creek had always been the bot:ndar,.
for the Town, but on several maps this is not so any more.
City Manager Lawson stated that the Council had directed the
staff to meet with officials from the City of Los Altos to
discuss the spheres of influence and boundary lines.

division Map for the Lands of Golston, a 2 -lot subdivisionhadbeen received. The mire and Health Departments and the Town
Geologist had reviewed the map. The Pathway COmmittee's recom-
mendations have been submitted to the applicart nor response.
It is recommended the Tentative Map be accepted :°or filing.
Motion was made by Commissioner SPENCER, seconded by Commissioner
PERKINS, the Tentative Subdivision Map for the Lands of Golston
be accepted for filing, and the applicant include on the map
the recommendations of the Pathway Committee. lJotion was unan-
imously approved.
ILING THE TENTATIVE_ SUBDIVISION OF MOODY HEICHTS
division Clap for the Moody Heights Subdivision, a 5 -lot subdi-
vision had been received. The Fire and Health Departments,
Town Historian and Town Geologist have reviewed the map. It is
recommended the Tentative Map be accepted for filing.
Motion was made by Commissioner PERKINS, seconded by Commission-
er CARICO, the Tentative Subdivision Map for Moody Heights be
accepted for filing, and the applicant include on the map the
recommendations of the Pathway Committee. Motion was unanimously
approved.
INED PUBLIC HEARING ON THE LANDS OF MARCUS STEDMAN

Mr. Stu Farwell, Assistant Fire Chief, Los Altos, stated the
amergency fire access roads requested by the Fire Department
were not only used for fires but also for rescue purposes.
With the opening of this particular area, more people would be
using the area, and that increased the need for an emergency
access road in this area.

Following discus ;ion, it was the consensa; of the Commission
the emergency access rind should go through Lot 8, across Lot
7, to tho Canyoa nand, across the creek, subject to the ap-
proval of Mr. Stegner, to Three Forks.
Mr. Farwell stated this road would meet the requirementsof the
Fire District.
Mr. Bahl, representing the owner, stated a bridge would be
built to carry the Fire Department's vehicles, subject to 11r.
Stegner's approval.
The Commission requested the staff contact *4r. Stegner,
regarding the emergency fire access road and bridge, and to
determine if there are easements along Three Forks and the
Stegner property, and stated any improvements made would be
at the subdivider's expense.
Discussion followed Lmong the Commissioners and Mr. Farwell,
concerning the possibility of canyon fires.
Mr. Farwell requested a map of the surrounding area be provi-
ded for the Fire District when the subdivision map was submit-
ted, stating the additional width along Country Way would be
used by the emergency vehicles only.
City Engineer Russell stated the type of pathway to be con-
structed would by Type 2A, and reviewed the type of roads to
be built.
Motion was made by Commissioner YOUNG, seconded by Commissioner
PERKINS, a public path along the northeastern boundary of
the property, and no public pathway along County Way be in-
cluded in the "Check List". After discussion, Commissioner
Young withdraw his motion and Commissioner Perkins, his second;
Assistant Planning Consultant Vlasic reviewed the recommenda-
tions for the paths requested by the Pathway Committee,
Itotior was made -by Commissioner PHILLIPS, seconded by Commis-
sioner PERKINS, the recommendations of the Pathway Committee
be accepted, and'also include a Type 2A path between Lots 10
and 11, and delete the pathway between Lots 7 and 8. Motion
was unanimously approved.
TO VARIANCE AND
chairman nueiler appointed Commissioner,—Car:co, er i.ns and
Young, to serve for the next three months on the Variance and
Permit Commission, and announced Commissioner Spencer would
chair the next meeting, as this was his last meeting on the
Planning Commission.
RECEIVED PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO SUBDIVISION ORDINANCE
Commissioner Young stated he was submitting a proposed amend-
ment to the Subdivision Ordinance.

Commissioner Perkins stated the Commission should review the
subdivision ordinance yearly, and suggested the proVosed amend -
VV ment be referred to staff for study and recommendation.

language was vague.
During discussion on the proposed ordinance, Chairman Mueller
stated Commissioner spencer had objected to the Council con-
cerning the proposed ordinance. It was the Commission's con-
sensus the staff convey the Commission's objections on the
proposed amendment to the Council, and forward copies of the
letter received from Planning Consultant Mader, also objecting
to the proposed ordinance.
