Commissioner Carico called the meeting of the Variance and Permit Commission to
order in the Council Chambers of the Town Hall at 7:20 P.M.
ROLL CALL
Present: Commissioners YOUIG, PERKINS, CARICO.
Absent: Commissioner, NONE.

sistant Planning Consultant Vlasic reviewed the buillding site applica-
far tion for the Lands of Woodward, stating the staff is recommending approval,
subject to the conditions listed in the staff memorandum of May 3, 197n.
Discussion followed concerning the Woodward property and the Aridano prop-
erty, to the east, concerning trails and access.
Commissioner Perkins requested that in the future, when the Pathway Com-
mittee requests a pathway, a map be prepared showing how the requested
pathway will relate to existing paths in the area.
City Engineer Russell requested Condition 1 of the "Check List" be made an
in-lieu fee, as the final subdivision map for the Pappas subdivision has
not been filed, and R.obleda will have some improvements required when the
subdivision receives final approval. If an in-lieu fee is required, it
will be in the amount of $1,900.59. Also, the in-lieu fee for parks and
1 recreation will be in the amount of $163.43, and the in-lieu fee for the
1 storm drainage will be in the amount of $200.00.
1 Mr. John Riley, Engineer for the applicant, stated the applicant was in
agreement with the staff recommendation,the triangular shaped parcel be
_ transferred to the Town, in exchange for the Tavn's transferring the sec-
tion of land shown as a public right-of-way to the applicant,as this right-
of way probably will not be developed. Also, the applicant, for this ex-
change, will give the Torn an additional ten feet of pathway easement, for
a total easement of thirty feet.

Motion was unanimously approved.

mitted by Mr. Narran for the addition of a family room to the existing resi-
dence. The family room would encroach five feet into the setback area of
thirty feet. All contiguous property owners have indicated they have no
objection to the proposed variance. The staff is recommending approval of
the variance, subject to the conditions listed in the staff memorandum of
April 29, 1974, and that this project be declared categorically exempt from
and EIR Report.
Discussion followed concerning whether or not the proposed addition would
obstruct the surrounding residences' view.
Mr. 'William Uarran, the applicant, spoke on his requested variance, stating
no obstruction of the surrounding residences' view 1•1ould occur as a result
of the addition.
Motion was made by Commissioner PERKINS, seconded by Commissioner YOUNG, the
f variance be approved, and this project be found categorically exempt from
�r an EIR Report. Motion was unanimously approved.
