The Regular Meeting of the Planning Commission of the Town of Lo-
'Itos Hills was called to order by Chairman Don T. Hibner Sat
January 21, 1961 at 6:40 . P1. at the Town Hall, 26379 W. Fre—on,
Los Altos Hills,

MINUTES: January 5, 1961.
ACTION:
`,dopt Minutes of Jan. 5, 1961 as submitted.
Ch^irman Hibner cuestioned whether the Council had beenau-
prised of theecor"endation stated on page 3, Item 5,
'Dreeseen', relative to a more equitable distribution of
subdivision costs. He tormented that this method had been
used at one time.
COMMUNICATIONS:

OLD BUSINESS: None.
VARIANCES:
1. Peters, Colin (V-66-60) - Request for Reduction of Setback Re-
quirements £or Lot No. 4, Tract No. 2003.
The Map Committee Chairn.^n reported that an on site inspection
had been made, and reccrrended apprave.l.
RECOMMENDATION:
That the Variance of Colin Peters (V-66-60) for waiver of
setback requirerents for Lot 4, Tract 2003 be approved, as
requested.
MOTION: Hawley; SECOND: Frentice; VOTE: Passed unanirously

Mrs. Frances Lawler, adjacent property owner, was present. 9: .
questioned whether or not homes constructed on these lots, if '..,

view of future building sites on her property.
Following discussion of how to protect the views from future
ing sites on the Lawler property, Mrs. Lawler stated that sh:; qac ---1
like to have the approval of her brother, the co-owner of the
property.
RECOMMEND:.TION:
That the request of Colin Petersfor reduction of setback
requirement to fifteen feet (15'3 for Lot #1, Tract No. 2322
(V-66-60) and Lot #5, Tract No. 2003 (V-67-60), be granted
with a two week delay, subject to the condition that the
buildings to be constructed on Lot #1 and Lot 415 not exceed
seventeen feet (171) in height from the present level of the
revised setback line at the building sites.

Letter, dated January 20h, was read £ror J. !J. Riley, Engr., re-
questing the Planning Commission's appproval of the revised map
(C-64) and Flat of acquisition (C-72)
It was noted that Lots 3 and 4 are now substandard in dimension.
RECOMMEND;:TION:
That the revised Tentative Map (C-64) and Plat of Land -.c-
ouistion (C-72) of Osc^.r B. Holm (177-60) 7 lots be approved,
subject to the conditions of the Check List and construction
of paths along the northerly side of the cul de sac within
the subdivision and the along the easterly side of Purissima
.,vs.; it is reco-sended that a contribution to the Fath Fund
be made in lieu of construction of these paths.
MOTION: Bowler; SECOYD: Mellquist; VOTE: Passed unanimously
NEW BUSINESS:
1. Planning .,dvisory Committee - Report by Mr. Rex Gardiner.
Mr. Gardiner, Chairman of the Planning .,dvisory Committee, read
and submitted his report, stating the Cor-nittee's recommendations
`, relative to paths. A Master Plan of Pedestrian Paths and Eques-
trian Trails was also presented.
Mr. Gardiner announced that he is resigning frin the Planning
`.dvisory Connittee.

Following discussion of paths, the following recommendation was
made:
RECOYMM-DU ,TION:
That the Subdivider Present, with his subdivision nap, a
program for paths within the subdivision according to Town
Standards or his election to make in lieu paynent for these
paths.
MOTION: Hawley; SECOND: ;,lter; VOTE: Passed unanimously
RECOMMENDLTION:
That the Report of the Planning _dvisory Committee be accept-
ed, and that the Planning Commission conmend the Planning
ddvisory Committee on its excellent work and that the Plan-
ning Commission make a statement of regret regarding the re-
signation of Mr. Gardiner as Chairman of the Committee.
MOTION: Liter; SECOND: Hawley; VOTE: Passed unanimously
Mr. Smith, Deputy Clerk, was asked to have copies made of the
proposed Master Path Plan; that copies be forwarded to members
of the Planning Conm.ission and Council, to be discussed at the
February 2nd. meeting.

Mr. Riley presented a revised map (C-57) showing a change in
access.
RECOMME3:
