6 PLANNING COMYL'SSI-ON TOWN OF LOS ALTOS H'`,T,S MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING June 1, 1961 The Regular Meeting of the Planning Commission of the Town of Los Altos Hills was called to order by Chairman Arthur S. Alter Thursday, June 1, 1961 at 7:45 F. M. at the Town Hall, 26379 W, Fremont Ave., Los Altos Rills. ROLL CALL: PRESENT: Commissioners Hawley, Hibner, Mellquist, Prentice, Chairman .liter ABSENT: Commissioners Bowler, Stevens MINUTES: May 20, 1961. Corrections: Page 4: NEW BUSINESS, Item 2 - Roads & Walks Line 5 of the Recommendation should read, "... equal to 'the cost of improvement of one hundred foot (1001) per subdivided lot will be ....... ACTION: Adopt Minutes of May 20, 1961 as corrected. COMMUNICLTIONS: 1, Count Plannniing Co�mmi_s_sion - Letter and copy of preliminary sub- d`lvicion nap of W- S. baton, 3 lots west side of Magdalena Ave. north of Summerhill &ve. submitted for comments and suggestions. Those were no objections to the rrorooed eutdivision, 2. CountPlanning Commission - Letter and copy of preliminary subdivision map of H. 7E. 9 lots on the north side of Ravensbury '.ve, opposite Toyonita Rd. submitted for comments and suggested. There were no objections to the proposed subdivision (approval wa recommended by the Planning Comnission contingent to annexation to the Town). 3. Paul I. Following discussion of ingress and egress, problem of future widening, and traffic p^r,7.l.e:'s relative to 'lest Fremont Avenue, the following reconme:n.;^i::'.ca was rade. RECOMEND.'MON: That the Flans for W. Fremont K-6 School project be returnee to Mr. Gentry for a study involving the widening of Jest Fremont and showing traffic circulation plan to and from tht school site. Commissioner Hibner, Chairman of Map Committee, reported that the proposed subdivision has access from Fernhill Rd., private road already serving more than five (i) building sites. f, Conditions of the Check List were read. RECOMMEND .TION: That the Tentative Map of Harold H. Bosschurt�D.^A lots. Engr. Charles Coburn. Commissioner Hibner reported than an inspection had been made of the site on Toyonita Rd., and there seemed to be no problems. Following discussion, the Chairman stated that there were no objections to the Tentative Map. NEW BUSINESS: 1. Furissina Mutual ldatee4ssociates - 'approval of Water Tank Site. Following discussion of the proposed tank site, situated within the road right of way on Vinedo Lane, the following recommenda- tion was Made. RECOMMEND:;TION: That the request of the Purissima Mutual Water :.ssociates for approval of a water tank site be approved under the provisions of Ordinance No. 69, Sec. 3:40; that when and if there is a need for a road, public or private, the water company will stand the expense for the removal of the water tank. MOTION: Hawley; SECOND: Prentice; VOTE: Passed unanimously Commissioner Mellquist was excused. 2. Road Standards - McCandless and Longmire. Mr. Charles S. McCandless and Mr. Wm. H. Longmire, Engineers, presented the Town's Road Standards for study and review. Types of berm construction, walks, and road widths were discussed Following discussion, Mr. McCandless was asked to study and pre- sent a plan for road section incorporating the County Standards for berms, showing proposed rights of way for private roads, cul de sacs, and thru roads, to presented to the Planning Com- mission at a future date. 3. Street Nano ChaRFes - Recommendation of the Planning Cammittee. Chairman :Ater read the report submitted by Commissioner Stevens, Chairman of the Planning Committee, recommending several name changes of streets within the Town for the purpose of establishinj continuity. 6 Roads cont'd.
