HomeMy WebLinkAbout04/28/1982VARIANCE AND PERMIT COMMISSION Town of Los Altos Hills 26.379 Fremont Road Los Altos Hills, California MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING Wednesday, April 28, 1982 Reel 98, Side I, Tract II, 000-260 Rydell called the meeting to order at 6:30 P.M. in the Chairman Town Hall Council Chambers. The Public Hearing was then opened. Mr. Bill Trabucco, owner, asked the commission to waive Condition 41 of the staff report noting that it would be an undue burden and that he felt it should be addressed at the time of building permit process not the variance applica- tion. th te ght M report wasArchitectunnecessarynandawoaldebehauhardship9eo- Mr. Carlson stated that in grating a variance we are allowing a structure to built, noting this area is very steep and there may be some concerns to be looked into. Lands of Trabucco', File #VAR 1-82 (continued) i Commission discussed the possibility of Mr. Cotton and to the Mr. Trabucco arranathg a meeting review proposed structural plans and other additional information so that Mr. Cotton's needs would be satisfied; and that the item ti could be continued until his needs were met. Mr. Trabucco indicated he wanted the variance approved tonight and would not like to wait any longer. It was passed by consensus to amend Condition #1. as follows: "A geotechnical report for the site and the building shall be submitted for the Town Engineer's and Town Geologist's review prior to Building Permit being issued". MOTION SECONDED AND CARRIED: Moved by Stewart, seconded by Lachenbruch and passed unanimously to recommend approval to the City Council for the Lands of Trabucco, File #VAR 1- 82, with the Recommendations and Conditions of Approval as amended. 2. LANDS OF LALONDE, File #VAR 2-82, 13770 Robleda Road, Request for reconstruction of existing garage within side yard setback. Ms. Webb referred to her staff report of April 9, 1982 noting that the request is for a variance to allow a 30' encroachment into the side yard setback for reconstruction of a garage/workshop. Ms. Webb noted a condition has been added that would not allow the structure to be over 15' in height. Staff recommended approval of the variance with the Recommendations and Conditions of Approval as outlined in the staff report of April 9, 1982. The Public Hearing was then opened. Mr. Buzz Bryan, Architect, noted they had no problem with the 15' height condition, he also noted that the structure would be used partly for a photo lab. The Public Hearing was then opened. MOTION SECONDED AND CARRIED: Moved by Stewart, seconded by Lachenbruch and passed unanimously to recommend approval to the City Council for the Lands of LaLonde, VAR # 2-82, with Recommendations and Conditions of Approval as outlined in staff report of April 9, 1982. Lands of George, pile #VAR 3-82, 27071 DeZahara Way, Request for a variance to install solar panels within side yard setback. Ms. Webb referred to her staff report of April 8, 1982 indicating this is a request for solar panels to be placed 28' maximum into the side yard setback. Ms. Webb noted the applicant had attempted to place the solar panels on the roof, but this proved unsucessful. Staff recommended approval of the variance with Recommendations and Conditions of Approval as outlined in staff report of April 8, 1982. The Public Hearing was opened and closed with no one speaking for or against this variance. MOTION SECONDED AND CARRIED: Moved by Lachenbruch, seconded by Stewart and passed unanimously to recommend approval to the City Council for Lands of George, File # VAR 3-82, with Recommendations and Conditions of Approval as outlined in April 8, 1982 staff report.
