Special Meeting
Shelley Doran, 24920 La Loma Court, commented that she wanted to get
involved in the community and had the time to devote to the many duties of
a Planning Commissioner. She understood planning issues and had recently
completed a planning project in the Town. She had worked very well with
staff but believed there were some procedures which could be improved.
Viole McMahon, 27975 Via Ventana, stated that she understood the time
commitment of this four year term. She had been designing residences for
sixteen years, worked well with people and did not believe she would have
any conflicts of interest in the Town. Through her work on the State Board
she understood the rules and regulations of planning issues and also the
intent of these rules and believed the Town's ordinances were clear.
David Takamoto, 13680 Robleda, commented on his background and his
strong commitment to good design and planning. Presently he was in the
process of remodeling his home in the Town. He had stepped down as
President of his company last year and now had more time to devote to the
community. He thought serving on the Planning Commission would be a
good way to participate. In response to an inquiry from Council about
possible conflicts of interest particularly since he worked with Foothill
College, Mr. Takamoto responded that he did not foresee any conflicts of
interest.
Council thanked all three applicants for their interest in the Town and their
willingness to serve on the Planning Commission.
MOTION SECONDED AND CARRIED: Moved by Dauber, seconded by Tryon
and passed unanimously to defer the appointment to the Planning
Commission to the June 23, 1993 Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City
Council.
