HomeMy WebLinkAbout51-88 S RESOLUTION NO: 51-88 A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS APPROVING TWO AMENDMENTS TO THE SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT PLAN FOR SANTA CLARA COUNTY TO ADD THERETO HER TO A POLICY TO REVIEW REQUESTS TO DISPOSE OF WASTE GENERATED OUTSIDE SANTA CLARA COUNTY AND TO DESIGNATE RECYCLERY THE AS A FACILITY FOR MUNICIPAL SOLID WASTE RESOLVED, by the City Council of the Town.of Los Altos Hills, County of Santa Clara, State of California, that WHEREAS, the City Council has previously concurred in the principles and objectives of the Solid Waste Management Plan for Santa Clara County; and, WHEREAS, the Santa Clara County Intergovernmental Council has requested that this City consider amending the Plan to include therein the following: 1. A Policy Establishing a Procedure for Review and Approval of Requests to Dispose of Non-Hazardous Solid Waste Generated Outside Santa Clara County at Facilities Located in Santa Clara County; and 2. An Amendment designating The Recyclery as a Designated Transfer/Processing Facility for Municipal Solid Waste; and WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Santa Clara has heretofore adopted a separate Negative Declaration under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) in connection with each of the proposed • • Revisions; and approved each of the amendments; NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills hereby finds and determines as follows: 1. The Town of Los Altos Hills as a responsible agency considered the environmental effects of each of the proposed Amendments as shown in the respective Negative Declarations. 2. The 1988 Amendment to the Santa Clara County Solid Waste Management Plan to Establish a Procedure for Review and Approval of Requests to Dispose of Nonhazardous Solid Waste Generated Outside Santa Clara County at Solid Waste Facilities Located in Santa Clara County is approved. 3. The 1988 Amendment to the Santa Clara County Solid Waste Management Plan to include the Recyclery as a designated transfer/processing facility for municipal solid waste is approved. 4. Concurrence in the principles and objectives of the said Plan is reaffirmed. 5. The City Clerk is directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to the IGC Solid Waste Committee for Santa Clara County, c/o Robert L.
