City Council Meeting
Wednesday, June 5, 1991, 6:00 P.M.
Town Hall, 26379 Fremont Road
1. CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Siegel called the Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City Council to
order at 6:00 p.m. at Town Hall.
Present: Mayor Siegel and Councilmembers Casey, Hubbard, Johnson
and Tryon.
Absent: None
Staff: Acting City Manager Richard DeLong, Recently Appointed
City Manager Les Jones, Director of Public Works
Bill Ekern and City Clerk Pat Dowd

2. STUDY SESSION: 1991-92 PROPOSED TOWN BUDGET
PASSED BY CONSENSUS: To approve the following changes to the
proposed budget:
Reduce solid waste fund budget for BFI disposal costs.
Eliminate contract salaries for Byrne Preserve Pathways.
Eliminate cost of non-point discharge permit
Did not approve program recommendations for Parks and Open Space
Budget.
Approve the Program Recommendations for Westwind Barn, Weed
Abatement, Pathway Maintenance.

Approved the Program Recommendations for Street Maintenance changing
the reference to 24 hours to 72 hours for response to service requests for
minor road repair
Approve drainage budget with deletion of $10,000 for non-point discharge
permit
Approve solid waste fund program recommendations with deletion of
number one.
The following program amendments were also approved.
Delete demonstration garden of native plants and the development of maps and
guide to Byrne Preserve Paths (PARKS AND OPEN SPACE PROGRAM)
Investigate the establishment of a program which would prohibit residents from
intentionally or unintentionally destroying paths and would require them to pay
restoration costs when they do. (PATHWAY MAINTENANCE PROGRAM)
Develop and secure City Council approval of street sign design standards
(STREET MAINTENANCE PROGRAM)
Amend recycling program to balance revenues and expenditures (SOLID WASTE
FUND)
Participate in County Household Hazardous Waste Program (SOLID WASTE
FUND)
Publicize and encourage backyard composting by publishing instructions in
Town Newsletter (SOLID WASTE FUND)

There being no further new or old business to discuss, the meeting was
adjourned at 7:05 p.m.
