Wednesday,July 3, 1991, 6:00 P.M.
Council Chambers, 26379 Fremont Road
1. CALL TO ORDER, ROLL CALL, AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Mayor Hubbard called the Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City Council to
order at 6:07 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Town Hall.
Present: Mayor Hubbard and Councilmembers Casey, Johnson, Siegel
and Tryon.
Absent: None
Staff: City Manager Les Jones, II and City Clerk Pat Dowd

2. INTERVIEWS FOR PLANNING COMMISSION
The City Council individually interviewed the four candidates for two
positions on the Planning Commission.
James Sinunu, 26635 Taaffe Road, commented that he had lived in the Town
for two years and in Los Altos for thirteen. He was familiar with the area and
wanted to get involved in the community. Mr. Sinunu commented on the
importance of the Town's paths and the importance of adhering to the
Town's height restrictions. He noted that subdivisions should not look like
tract housing and the rural aspects of the Town should be encouraged. Mr.
Sinunu believed the neighbors should be listened to and he stated that he was
familiar with land use issues.
Emily Cheng, 24595 Voorhees Drive, noted that she had been a resident of the
Town for a long time and knew the area well. She at one time also worked
for the County as a computer programmer. Mrs. Cheng believed neighbors'
input should be heard and considered and that fairness was important. She
also commented on the importance of ridgelines, not building to maximum
development and the importance of neighborhoods.
Edwina Comiso, 27933 Briones Way, stated that she believed that the Town's
rights were before the developers' rights. There were rules to follow and each
case needed to be considered on its own. Mrs. Comiso believed more site
analysis was needed. She also noted that the fence issue was one that needed
to be resolved. Too many variances were being requested regarding fences
and the Town needed to find out why this was the case.
La Earnest, 12769 Dianne Drive, strongly supported following the Town's
Code, General Plan and one's own judgement. The ordinances should not be
bent. If one did not like the rules they should try to get them changed. Mr.
Earnest believed the ordinances related to ridgelines were too loosely
interpreted and that the landscape ordinance should be enforced.
3. CLOSED SESSION: LITIGATION: PURSUANT TO GOVERNMENT
CODE SECTION 54957.8
The City Council adjourned to a Closed Session for purposes of
litigation at 6:50 p.m. and reconvened at 7:10 p.m.

There being no further new or old business to discuss, the meeting was
adjourned at 7:10 p.m.
