HomeMy WebLinkAbout94-87 - 4 RESOLUTION NO. 94-87 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS DETERMINING THAT THE WORK REQUIRED TO INSTALL YELLOW FLASHING BEACON LIGHTS NEEDS TO BE PERFORMED IMMEDIATELY ON AN EMERGENCY BASIS AND AUTHORIZING THE ENTERING INTO OF A CONTRACT THEREFOR RESOLVED, by the City Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills, County of Santa Clara, State of California, that WHEREAS, the City Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills has been advised of a need to install two (2) yellow flashing beacon lights on poles overhanging Fremont Road in the vicinity of Bullis School. WHEREAS, in the opinion of the City Council the work in question required to install the beacon lights needs to be performed without further delay by reason of the immediate threat to public health and safety which exists to students who have resumed attending Bullis School and in connection with present traffic conditions, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, ORDERED, AND DETERMINED as follows: The City Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills hereby declares and determines that pursuant to Section 20168 of the Public Contract Code the public interest and necessity demand the immediate expenditure of public money to safeguard life and health in order to install the beacon lights described above. The City Council hereby awards a contract to perform installation of the beacon lights described above to the following named person at the price immediately following the name of the person, namely: Cupertino Electric, a California Corporation, for Five Thousand Eight Hundred Thirty Dollars, ($5,830.00) The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute the contract so awarded to the above-named firm on behalf of the Town of Los Altos Hills, and the City Clerk is hereby directed to attest her signature thereto.
