II, Side I, 001-396 Mayor Fuh� called the Special Meeting of the City Council to order at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Town Hall. A. Council had received five applications for appointment to the Planning Commission plus letters from the three present Commissioners requesting reappointment. No applications had heen received for committee appointments. Council interviewed the following applicants: Theresa McDaniel, Jean Struthers, Edward Fhaing, Arthur Lachenbruch, Carol Gottlieb, Leda Patmore and Judith Bragg. Mr. Jenson was not present at the meeting. van Tamelen had prepared a list of suggested questions to be asked of the applicants. These questions included the following: why the resident was applying for the Commission?; Did they have the time to serve on the Commission?; What experience did they have? and their opinions on the following subjects: architectural control, secondary dwellings, pathways, horses and roads. Theresa McDaniel and Judith Bragg were the only two applicants presently not on the Commission or on a Cannittee. Both indicated they would be interested in serving on one of the Committees if they were net appointed to the Commission. MUTTON SENfIDID Ata? CARRIED: Moved by Dronkert, seconded by Fuhnnan and passed unan;mausly by all mmObers present to appoint Arthur Lachenbruch, Jean Struthers and Edward Furling to the Planning Commission each for a term of four years. Council thanked all those who had applied and congratulated those who were appointed. In addition they hoped that applicants not presently serving on oommittees would consider such an appointment. Mrs. McDaniel stated she would be interested. MrION SECONDED AM CARR"IM: Moved by Tryon, seconded by Dronkert and passed unanimously by all members present to appoint Theresa McDaniel to the Environmental Design and Protection Cmmittee for a term of tw years.
