I, Side I, 001-863 Mayor van Tamelen called the Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at 7:10 p.m. in the Council Chambers of Tian Hall. A. ROLL CALL AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: present: Absent: Staff: Mayor van Tamelen and COtnC'lmwmbers Allison, Perkins and Proft Councilwoman Hillestad City Manager Ann Hinshaw, City planner John Carlson and City Clerk Pat Dowd B. BUDGET STUDY SESSION: The City Manager Presented a budget message which included an update on the prelim- inary Capital Improvement Budget, budget requests fon the Pollution Control Cc mittee. the Library and the Senior Center and time status of federal disasterashsiwere reflected In addition the City Manager notedcertainthat organizational �ts were distributed to the in the Proposed budget and crnmen department budgets in the document before Council. Council discussed their approach to the budget discussion and to the matter Of the Matadero Creek Subdivision Funds. Perkins noted that Council's intent was to review the document before them as an interim budget with adoption of a final b budget of on later date. Additional, more accurate figures were needed for proper' the budget and it was hoped the final adoption would take place about mid-August. PASSED BY CONSENSUS: To authorize the City Manager_ to place the Matadero Creek Subdivision monies in those finds which she determines appropriate. Account #1-400 - City Council MOTION SECONDED AID CARRIED: Moved by van Tamelen, seconded by Allison and passed unanimously by all members Present to terminate "'bership in the National League of Cities. Account #1-462 - Cultural Consideration of library request for finding to be gig when more accurate figures �. are available on Town's financial status. Judith Carico Planning Caumissioner, addressed the Council on behalf of the world appreciate having an input into the burk3et Carmission and noted that they _with the discussions. Mrs. Carica asked if a meeting could be Richard Rydell to discuss the City Manager and the Planning CaumissThe Chairman, the concerns of the Planning Osumrssion. The City Manager responded that such a meeting would be scheduled. � Councilman Proft left the meeting due to a previous cmulitmeut. Barbara bell, Santa Clara C2MtE Librarian, addressed the Council and explained request for Council financial support of the libraries in the amount of 11 referred to her letter of 6/8/83 to the City approximately $12,000. Mrs. Camupbe and information on the library Manages (on file at Town Hall) which includer sp responded that they could not make a I and a budget breakdown for 1983/84.
